I was wondering how many people in Sheffield know of Steiner Waldorf Education.
I'm doing a little bit of research and as this forum has a good cross section of Sheffield folk by now I thought it a good place to start.
Would you be willing to post a few thoughts on the subject on this thread.
1) If you have heard of it
2) What is your understanding of it
3) What is your opinion of it
4) Would you welcome it for Sheffield
Kind Regards
Bonny
OK Bonny, I'll have a shot at it for you. I think it might be early years education but not sure. Is it a more play based curriculum than formal, structured learning? The focus being the physical, emotional and social development of the child so they are better prepared for academic teaching later on? I might be way off, sorry. If it is this, I think its great, its my ideal anyway. Trouble is parent pressure in schools is huge, they seem more interested in letter recognition and name writing, grrr. I would be interested in knowing more but won't do a search until you reply.
