matt1889 21-11-2005, 09:40 As a keen angler, would be very interested if you could get bk to the forum with info when the site is up and running properly!
Matt
I agree Matt, it could be a good site if it attracts enough members.
Cheers for the kind comments.
I have fished in Yorkshire a few times and I will be moving ooop north soon and have always struggled to find any good info on the web for fishing in Yorkshire.
So I thought I would take matters into my own hands and get a site going.
Thanks again
Tratty

PaulTansley 21-11-2005, 16:31 My favourite fishing is in NorthYorkshire.
The river Rye at Marton near Pickering has some good trout and grayling.
A nice trotting river so keeps you busy and very shallow, 2-3 feet deep.

theripsaw 25-11-2005, 14:55 do you make it as much fun as possible for the fish as well?- perhaps you could play Aggadoo to them and offer them a drink after hauling them from their home with a barbed hook through their mouth.
UnkleBob 25-11-2005, 18:15 hi, Ripsaw... if it wasn't for us anglers there'd be less fish in our rivers, lakes and canals.
When was the last time you spotted and reported a problem? do you know who to phone if you saw fish in distress due to low oxygen? and would you notice?
Do you know how to identify fish diseases?
You don't seem to realise that we (anglers) are the first ones on the bank to notice any problems with wildlife (all wildlife). I myself have reprted low oxygen to the environment agency, a friend of mine has in the past reported someone dumping chemicals in the River Don, if it wasn't for him the scrapyard responsible would have got away with it.
I've reported algal blooms and had the authorities down to pump oxygen into "our" stretch of canal.
Also, as we ARE the dominant species on the planet, how do you think we got there?
You really shouldn't comment on something you know little about.
Good luck with the website Tratty!
We are now up and running peeps.
Have fun
