Enjoyed loking at your post cards. They are just thr right size. I love looking at the scenes long since gone. I have my grandmothers collection from the period after the first war.

Brilliant! The postcards of the 2 stations are wonderfully evocative - especially the platform pictures. Thanks for putting them up. Just the right size too.

Has anyone got any memories or photo's of the christening of the steam engine "City of Sheffield. It was at the Midland station but I can't remember when (40s i think)

This is a very interesting posting, and should be considered. He asks me a question no one knows more about the Dunsbyowl Ecclesfield connections.Also Royle and his colleagues, what about trying to start different threads re old Sheffield artists who, over the years, painting views of Sheffield. It would be nice to see some of these images on the screen.

This a really old thread. I am glad you resurrected it as all my links were broken so i have now fixed them.
