View Full Version : Perfect pizza topping?
mmm....
I like pineapple on just plain cheese and tomato pizzas.
Olives are out in any pizzas.
What makes a perfect pizza topping for you?
Do you stick to what is on the menu or are you adventurous?
tinajones 15-02-2004, 19:15 broken up BBQ tofu burger on top of a margarita with extra cheese.
DaBouncer 15-02-2004, 19:16 Pinapple, Sweetcorn, Pepperoni and Jalapeno :D
On a pizza hut stuffed crust!

jackthedog 16-02-2004, 08:10 Margherita every time.
Pure and simple, lean and mean.
Does without the unneccessary garbage on the top.
*Twinkle* 16-02-2004, 08:16 Mmmm Pizza hut country feast! (Peppers, tomato chunks, mushrooms, sweetcorn etc) mmmmmmm! :P
Daveyboy 16-02-2004, 09:31 tandoori chicken and sweet corn on a Dominos pizza :-)
mmm-mmm nice
Phanerothyme 16-02-2004, 09:50 tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni - applied sparingly, A slice should be thin and rigid, not bending under the weight of its own topping IMO, so less is more.
fnkysknky 16-02-2004, 11:40 As hot as possible and as many different kinds of meat as possible does me fine :)
I like artichokes, olives, onion, pepper, couple of anchovies and mozzarella.
I love dominoes texas BBQ pizza, my fav from a take-away pizza shop. Don't like pizza hut very much.
My fav type of pizza are pizza's from Gozo, which are authentic thin crispy base and fresh toppings, like olives, capers, egg, seafood, meat, fresh herbs, local cheese and real tomotoes. Unfortunately most pizza's in this country are processed stodge! But Texas BBQ is yummy.
I have to agree with Foxxx, the freshly made simple ones abroad are the best.
The ones over here are too stodgy.
Mind you I do make a mean pizza myself:thumbsup:
garrence 16-02-2004, 13:27 Pineapple and black olive. A simple mix of sweet and salty.
Classic Rock 16-02-2004, 15:09 Ham, mushroom, pineapple and extra cheese!
jackthedog 16-02-2004, 16:02 I cant agree that the fresh simple ones that you get abroad are the best.
When I have pizza I want the stodgyness - the soft deep pan doughy-crusted goodness.
I dont want a poncey "italian style" crispy based, thin buscuit of a pizza.
An Italian friend of mine used to say we couldnt make good pizzas in England, and that we wouldnt know a good pizza if it hit us in the face.
Yet - last I heard - we export more pizzas to Italy than they do to us.
Sam Miguel 16-02-2004, 16:28 Unfortunately I am allergic to dairy products so can't really indulge. Then again, I chance it now and again. When I do, I like the meat-feast variety with spicy minced beef.
Moon Maiden 16-02-2004, 16:41 I have seen this thread all day and left it alone. Now my tummy is rumbling as I wait for the fella to come home and the mind has launched at the idea of pizza for tea.
We generally have a Kingdom Special from our local pizza place, which I believe has every topping known to man on it minus the anchovies and olives.
However before we discovered their delights we would have a vegetarian pizza with Ham, Salami and probably some kind of chicken with extra mozzerella!!
I love pizzas with lots of cheese!! Also I used to prefer thin and crispy pizza until I dicovered you could fit more in a deep pan!

Don't really do pizza as i don't like cheese a lot. But if do have one i usually make it myself (even the sauce) that way i know what is on it and can put on a little bit of low fat cheese and crozzle it. Other toppings are wotever is in the fridge, onions peppers chillies tomatos sometimes ham or if there is pepperoni in freezer.
Do like garlic bread in italian restuarants though with chillies on it. And Good fellas ciabatta pizzas in pepperoni (but i have to take off some of the cheese) are lovely but very dangerous. In our house they are known as don't look at the carlorie content you will die pizzas.
try pizza napoli sardines ,,,, mmmmmmmmmmmmm yum yum yum:thumbsup:

fabulous_girl 31-05-2008, 20:09 I like mushrooms, olives, anchovies, capers! four seasons is my pizza of choice. boyf hates all those things so if we're sharing i always have to go for a boring meat feast type fiasco. oooh yes, artichoke too
beddoe79 31-05-2008, 20:11 At the minute our fave from the fresh pizza counter at asda is bbq sauce on the base, topped with cheese, chilli beef, bacon and mozarella slices. its lovely and just like eating a bacon double cheeseburger.
Ham, pineapple, mushroom and double onion, perfect combination:love::love:
cloudybay 31-05-2008, 22:12 Deep fried diced cat or pan fried pensioner floats my boat.
LitleMermaid 31-05-2008, 22:14 Mushrooms+onion+pineapple+sweetcorn+lots and lots of cheese!

You have gooood taste!
All these heathens who want pineapple on their pizza. Eyuw! :gag: Fruit has NO place on a pizza!
The perfect one would have: tomato, cheese, olives, mushrooms, anchovies, prawns, and some more cheese. Maybe some Jalapenos too, and capers, a bit of spinach. And I'd also have one of those cheese bites crusts that you get in Pizza Hut.
I am currently scoffing a Create Your Own Pizza from Asda. Its a Stonebake base with barbecue sauce instead of tomato, cheese, mushrooms, ham and extra mozzarella. It is lovely!
Pepperoni and green pepper.
I used to like the deluxe pizza from Dominos. But I don't think they do it anymore, and you need to re-mortgage your house buy a pizza from there.

I agree with your boyfriend, you have crap taste. :hihi:
supersonic 01-06-2008, 03:06 Lots of good cheese, pepperoni, diced pepper, diced onion. Mushrooms are demon spawn!
samesame monkey 01-06-2008, 08:53 Thin, crispy base with baby spinach, chorizo, butternut squash and black olives.
or a sicillian; red onion, olives and anchovies.
And just enough cheese to hold it together, too much cheese on a pizza is truly horrible.
Domino's still do the Deluxe, just say you have a fiddy per cent voucher for auto half price (they wont ask you for it).
melthebell 01-06-2008, 11:45 the manager of a pizza shop was found dead yesterday under a huge mound of cheese and tomatoes
