driving along yesterday behind meadowhall, the road which the bus station is on, and i hit a pot hole. i was not doing more than 30, but today i've woke up with a flat.
the tyre/wheel has been indented from the impact.
what can i do?
i presume the council will take the attitude of - look where your going?
but as a council tax payer, theyre screwing me over enough already. so what do i/can i do?

This is a tricky one I believe they have a statutary duty to maintain the highways but as always it is proof isn't it taking a photo of the offending pothole is a bit of a risky business with the Dizzies that are driving around these days

If the impact caused an indentation to the wheel rim it sounds as if you're tyre wasn't properly inflated, - perhaps you already had a slow puncture without realising it ? You're likely to have suffered suspension damage too.
Not trying to excuse the council - there pothole record is abysmal, - but it's a line they'll probably take if you make a claim.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK, if the pothole has already been reported, you might be able to make a claim. If it hasn't, then I don't think you can.
However, as has already been said, its proving it............

Vini (hijacking Minx's account): Due to a bad record with nails, I regularly check my tyre pressure so I wouldn't have thought it was that. :help:
