View Full Version : Crying lady with a Cockatiel in Sheff city centre.
Might sound strange but i was a little suspect when I went to the bustop outside Wilkos in town after work today. There was a foreign lady stood there and she approached a young girl saying she had been robbed and sobbing loudly stopping and the starting again. She had a cockatiel with her that was jumping from her hand to her shoulder. She was trying to ask the young girl for money which the girl didn't have. I was dubious as I thought if she had have been robbed she would have called the police ? Has anyone seen her or been approached by her ?
I am curious more than anything.
Thanks.
webmarshall 11-02-2011, 21:21 scammer........tut really dislike these people
My thoughts to, to be honest. Think people should be careful. I just wanted to check, benefit of the doubt and all that.

I have no idea. It was well trained though.
I'm sure this must be the woman i saw at Broomhill last week the bird was very happy hopping about on her head and shoulders she was def foreign, thought it wierd that she was walking around as though it was normal to walk the streets with a bird on your head!
webmarshall 11-02-2011, 21:29 a woman once pulled over in a car and stopped me and a member of my staff, to try and sell us some gold rings because she didnt have anyone money...... these rings are brass not gold..... times are changing in the world really quickly and i dont like the way its going
if an old sheffield lady does this with a nice owl, someone would give her 50p. a foreign lady does it with a cockatiel and she is lambasted on the sheffield forum and painted out to be a disgraceful lunatic.
You sure she had'nt had a cockatoo?

It must be her personal pet, or it wouldnt stand being paraded about like this.

I pointed out she was as a discription and not for any other reason. There is always one who likes to take issue. I was asking about this lady out of curiosity.
Ps an old lady crying with an owl who wasn't foreign would have got the same reaction. Lambasted ??? Grow up

Strange that,isn't it. I bet she'd prefer a cockatoo!:o
discodown 11-02-2011, 21:57 Did she do this to anyone else? Did she parrot the same speech at them?!

would call the police on this foreign scammer tho
Darth Vader 12-02-2011, 02:00 I've heard she's safe but the bird is a bit of a magpie in disguise. It'll have your bag in one fell swoop, the police are on it's tail, after a number of fly-bys, they've ruffled more than a few feathers trying to get to the bottom of this.

I suppose she'll end up in front of the beak and end up doing bird.

Welcome back to the forum. Not seen this woman, however, she is one of the many oddities that frequent that area of town.

made me laugh! How ingenious this lady is, if she gets the bird to do her dirty work.

Grow up. people like you spoil this forum, trying to cause arguments. go elsewhere and pedal your tripe.
Steptoad 12-02-2011, 14:16 I saw this woman with the cockatiel the other day. I said where did you get that from? The cockatiel replied ..................., (etc.etc.)
puddinburner 12-02-2011, 14:16 The cops are sending the flying squad as we speak!
I heard the bird went to the vets and said can you remove this scab from my foot
mysticalred 12-02-2011, 15:45 ive had a woman stop me three times.she asks if your english first then tells you she has argued with her husband and he left her here and went back to scotland.she asks for 1.20 to get home.cheap fare to scotland that is.you would have thought she would have learnt the first time her husband left her.but no hes done it three times now hehe
RedThirteen 12-02-2011, 18:26 First of all, this is a quality thread!
Second of all, IMO anyone willing to give money to a complete stranger deserves everything they get.
I'd probably find myself shouting uncontrollably at this woman about what she does for a living and/or what the hell she's done with the hundreds of pounds in benefits she claims.
Eventually I'd calm down, and maybe offer her three quid for the bird :D
Has every body heard about the bird?
