Hey cool Mosh ! Needed cheering up... the bottle of wine and pizza I'm munching dont' seem to be working :P
Ha ha! Very nice that. I had to put up with watching couples all day in both peace and winter gardens, and I was even told to hand out roses to the people who just came off the horse and cart rides, I told them where to shove the roses and made them do it. :o :P
Hey i sat in winter gardens 90 mins - think i saw u duffman ! Left when some people came in to get wedding photos done on valentines day - way too depressing !!!
There were 16...YES 16 weddings today, you only saw a fraction of them! The only thing that cheered me up was a kiss from the blonde girl in the cafe. The joy soon dissapeared and now i'm sat with a nice bottle of vodka also eating pizza!
As i'm writing this Roy Orbison is on my CD player with only the lonely :( :P
I'm gonna start an anti- valentines petition and take it to number 10 i think !!!
You get my full support on this:thumbsup:
Lets eliminate Valentines day:twisted:
SatanInHeels 14-02-2004, 20:22 fully behind ya on this one... valentines day sucks!! big time!!
BrainThrust 14-02-2004, 22:35 it's not that bad, i saw lots of couples around today but nothing sickening.
Lets just leave it as a miserable day to some (some of you should know better thannto criticise it) and a shameless marketing ploy to the rest.
What has happened this week to make people so sick about it? The last i knew half of you were looking forward to it.
Wilf

Gawd, I did. Maybe it's just because I noticied it more with it being valentines day.

aint much to look forward to when you are single really
Phanerothyme 15-02-2004, 09:22 or if you are attached, frankly
if you are going to commit an act of love, then it might mean something if you don't do it on StValentines Day.
St Valentines day... when did that happen?
*Twinkle* 15-02-2004, 13:34 I love valentine's day!!! Any excuse to be all soppy and romantic! :P
Mosherchik 15-02-2004, 13:41 Al Capone got it right!!! I'll have the Kalashnikov who wants the Uzi?.......
Only joshing! I just think VD was invented by card companies to get more money from us! besides its also St Cyrils day on Feb 14th and do we hear anything about him????
Ps not bitter...had a very enjoyable VD
Got a flower...it was pink!!!!
Babooshka 15-02-2004, 13:49 What are you all like ? A huge fuss need not be made over Valentine's Day. Like it or hate it, who cares. Love isn't about Valentine's day. If you are in love then EVERY days should be spent letting the person you are with know how special they and relationship are to you. Some people just use V Day as an excuse to show affection, but by the 15th have fallen out again! I have to say, for me, Valentine's Day was nothing out of the ordinary...romantically speaking. Fair enough, the trip to Rome was great, but I feel the same EVERY day...even after 3 and a half years! I will always try to make that special someone feel loved an appreciated...(not by what I buy....I don't buy anything but a card as a small token of my affection)...but by how I act and what I can do for them. Always thinking of them first and foremost. Then again, you always treat all people like that so that the world in which we live is full of love (Man!!!) For those who are single...who cares. Go out and have fun with your pals. Don't get ****** off about one commercialised day that really shouldn;t be any different from the rest.
I bought loads of food and drink and invited all my single friends and their friends over for a party (invite entitled: "couples smell:throw rocks at them"). It was great. I even got an excellent shag out of it. Ah! Romance!

As I scrolled down this thread I was waiting for your post saying how much you loved valentines day.
Soppy Bugger! :)
I personally hate it - not cos i'm single - but because it's yet another Hallmark Holiday.
Like Mothers day, Fathers Day and Easter.
What's romantic about a commercial venture set up to keep flower shops, card companies and Thorntons in business over an otherwise dry period?
Daveyboy 16-02-2004, 09:40 People aren't we missing the point its not anything to do with card manufacturers it’s the licker industry that reap's the profits how many people sit a home all bitter getting hammered on valentines day…… see it’s a conspiracy I tell ya'
;-P
