What do you prefer? I'm a regular at the cottage but i do find comfort in the lescar. The lescar seems to be more local n less busier than the cottage, and it serves excellent food. Although i am a cottage regular, but at the weekends its just too busy n the lescar is perfect. They dont throw you out at the strike of eleven as the cottage seem to do. All in all though i love both of then and the cottage is home to a very good and popular jukebox!!

Agreed. Far too cramped in the Cottage and too many students all up themselves......

Lescar gets my vote for best pub in sheffield. They could do with some more real ale but hey you can't have everything.
Cottage in winter (although they could do with some ventilation). Lescar in summer.
cottage:
expensive
bugger all seating when busy and oddly placed seating
full of students (no great mix)
best jukebox in sheffield
always cosy
Lescar:
great mix of people
lots of cool alternative types
more chilled atmosphere
great beer garden
weird small room at front
a but crowded at times. bar can be a problem
for me its the Lescar but then again I know a fair few people who drank/drink there

The Lescar - every time. It is, without a doubt, the best pub in Sheffield.

I like them both. At the moment I prefer Porter Cottage, as I've been in Lescar alot recently.
