Does anyone know of an old school(it may still exist) that i have found while doing some family history.
the name on the 1881 census is
Broad oak green broad oak school, ecclesall bierlow
It appears to be a boarding school

It was probably the old school on what is now Broad Elms Lane. It was a school for almost 200years until it became a mission hall at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. It later became Ecclesall High School, which was forced to close after damage in a severe gale in 1962. The building was later converted into flats. There's a picture in a book called Ecclesall in the Images of England series, which I think is still available.
