Hi there all. Just thought Id see if anyone can help on this. My dad has bought my little boy a small motocross bike for his birthday and we can only legally allow him to ride it on our own garden etc. Does anyone know of any private land/field etc where he could ride without breaking the law. He has never ridden before, so wont be whizzing around really fast, just to practice his riding. I would be willing to pay a small fee to anyone who could allow this perhaps once a week for a couple of hours on their land/field. I know its a long shot, but cant think what else to do. Would hate to have to get rid of the bike, as he would be upset, hes only 8. :(

Not sure if its still there - but there was a place at Armthorpe, Doncaster - a proper set up just off the M18. Obviously you'd need to get them there. Hope it helps.

Are you mad? An 8 year old on some sort of motorbike? What the hell for? Get him one with pedals, it'll be better exercise and a lot safer.
If you can figure out how the search function works on these pages, 'minimoto' is the word you need to put in, or 'mini*' or '*moto'
i'm taking my lad up on skyedge this saturday, its well away from the houses there's loads of space and i'm told the police don't bother if the kids are with parents.other than that ive seen people in the arena car park when tyhere's no events on.

Thanks for all replies, (Richt - obviously you havent got kids!!) will see what we can do. Where do you think all top bikers started off RichT??? and by the way he is nearly 9 and quite capable of riding a pedal bike, and gets plenty of exercise!!!

I wouldn't ecommend an 8 year old novice to go to the one near Wilkos, I pass it regularly and it looks a real free for all.
The organised ones seem the best for a beginner.
