Just seen an accident, well the aftermath, on the roundabout. Apparently a van came round and tipped on its side. Not sure if anyone is injured, there's quite a lot of police, fire brigade there.

The traffic is pretty stacked back, and upper hanover way towards bramall lane is closed (although it looks like it's being cleared up atm)

I always said that one road should have gone underground -

- just like Supertram has.

I agree, I know so many people who've had accidents there - I have to go round it lot and really hate it.

I hate that roundabout too. I go out of my way to avoid it!

Someone tried to hit me yesterday when I was on it :( The *expletive* just ignored the fact I was on the roundabout and was about to turn off and tried to drive through me.

Lots of beeping ensued from me! Shame I wasn't in my other car with twin air horns :)

Sometimes you have to drive aggressively on Brook Hill roundabout or you will sit there for ages.

That can't be right.

We should demand some new traffic lights

I have to use it everyday :(

If ever a roundabout needed proper flow control lights, instead of the useless ones it has now, then this is it.

It doesn't even have any proper lights does it (?) - are they not just crossings - I can't remember. I try and avoid it, but living between crookes and walkley you don't get that far!

btw if coming from broad lane and going down winter st, which lane do people choose and where do you signal? I've found the best thing is to be in the middle, signalling right but then change the signal to left, before exiting, but the problem is that if someone is on your inside, unless you're careful it looks like you're going properly right, which you're not.

I'm sick of getting cut up in this situation!

It's a dodgy exit to Bolsover St/Winter St - I walk past it each morning. If you follow the lane markings then people will just pull out of Brook Hill into you, but if you're in middle lane and cross the lane markings like you say, they'll be someone up your inside. Makes me laugh each time I walk past it!

As a pedestrian who crosses various roads around that roundabout every day (I live right next to it) what peeves me is that motorists are so busy trying to get ahead on there/get onto it the infront of the person next to them/trying to make it round there in one piece, they don't seem to take a blind bit of notice of the crossing lights!

It makes my blood boil when time after time cars, vans, buses etc pull over the crossing whilst waiting for the traffic to move, even though the cars infront of them are blatantly going nowhere in a hurry, then the lights turn red and we have to weave our way across the road infront of these cars who then decide to go speeding off just as you're about to step infront of them because they're too far forward to notice the lights are on red

I always make sure I shoot them evil looks and if their window is down even better, they can hear me calling them er....naughty words :P

(end of rant ;) )

What gets me is when you are coming from Broad Lane and heading towards Winter Street, no matter what lane you are in, and regardless of you indicating, someone coming down from Western Bank will try and drive in front of you. Every time. It's like they see it as their duty to try and hit you.
Hopefully when (if) they sort out the A57, they'll sort out this roundabout too. I can't remember what the plans were though.
