This week marks the 300th episode of the Simpson's on Sky one, but from the 'cast' of many characters, who is your favourite and why?

My personal favourite has to be Homer for his superb one liners and sheer dumbness.

Quote :
Homer - "Marge, where do we keep those, erm, metal deeleys for, er, digging food?"
Marge - "You mean a spoon?"
Homer - "Yeah, yeah."

Mr Burns! Mr Bruns gives the Simpsons a new dimension and much scope for storylines. I often find I enjoy the episodes much more when he appears in them

I like Marge, she's just so accepting! She simply lets out a "Hmm" at Homer's trying antics and remains the ever caring mother to her kiddies :D You've got to admire her!

Another thing is I am really surprised that it's only 300 episodes, I thought it would be much much more.........it does seem to be on all the time. Perhaps there are just too many repeats.

The BBC should buy more episodes. There's probably only about 50 episodes that I've seen, and nearly every single one on BBC2 nightly I've seen before.

I think Mr. Burns is about my favourite character, he's hilarious. Homer's also very funny.

I think it's true that Homer has the best lines....

Homer: Marge, old people don't need companionship. They need to be isolated and studied so it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.

Lisa: Dad, what's a Muppet?
Homer: Well, it's not quite a mop, it's not quite a puppet, but man...
[laughs hysterically]
Homer: So to answer your question, I don't know.

Homer: Alcohol, the cause of and solution to all life's problems.

Homer: Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals... except the weasel.

Homer: Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Homer: Lisa, if you don't like your job you don't strike, you just go in every day and do it really half-assed - that's the American way.

Chief Clancy Wiggum!

'No jury in the world is going to convict a baby ... Maybe Texas'

'I hope this has taught you kids a lesson: kids never learn'.

'Fat Tony is a cancer on this fair city! He is the cancer and I am the ... uh ... what cures cancer?'

'This is Papa Bear. Put out an APB for a male suspect, driving a... car of some sort, heading in the direction of, uh, you know, that place that sells chili. Suspect is hatless. Repeat, hatless.'

'Okay folks, show's over. Nothing to see here, show's... Oh my god! A horrible plane crash! Hey everybody, get a load of this flaming wreckage! Come on, crowd around, crowd around!'

'Uh, no, you got the wrong number. This is 9-1... 2.'

Chief Wiggum: Don't worry, that car thief can't hold his breath forever!
Cop: And if he can, Chief?
Chief Wiggum: Then God help us all!

What about Ralph Wiggum?

"My cat's breath smells like cat food"

"Miss Hoover, I have a crayon stuck up my nose"

"Miss Hoover, I glued my head to my shoulder"

I think Homer has the best and most funny lines, but i have two other contenders for my favourite...

Apu...

Apu: Ah. The searing kiss of hot lead; how I missed you. I mean, I think I'm dying.

Apu: Hey, hey, this is not a lending library. If you're not going to buy that thing put it down or I'll blow your heads off.

Apu: I'm gonna party like its on sale for $19.99

But my winner is Mr Burns... the best bad guy on TV....

Mr. Burns: I could crush him like an ant, but that would be too easy. I'll bide my time until... oh, what the hell, I'll just crush him like an ant.

Mr. Burns: The watchdog of public safety. Is there any lower form of life?

[filing out medical forms]
Mr. Burns: Social security number? Naught, naught, naught, naught, naught, naught, naught, naught, 2. Damn Roosevelt. Cause of parents death? Got in my way.

the line that springs out to me is the one where the fat german student (what's his name??) is being chased by Homer in the changing rooms. Homer is whipping his ass with a towel and giggling - the fat german boy, who is trying to run away shouts out

'please don't chase me i'm full of chocolate'!!

:D

"remember son, no matter how good you are at something, there are about a million people better at it then you"

"if something is hard to do, maybe its not worth doing at all"

"URSH lemon, URGH cherry, URSH custard HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM purple *scoffs"

Slightly off topic .....

My two favourite lines from The Simpsons are :-

In the episode where Bart wins Stampy the elephant, Selma and Patty are in rocking chairs on top of a whirlwind ....

" Ooh oooh I can feel it right up my skirt!"

In the episode where Otto marries Becky and Marge goes slightly mad ....

"Seeing that you're dressed for it Homer, I'll give you some S&M ... scrubbing and mopping!!"

I regard Fat Tony as a fashion icon!

I also regard Comic Book Man's delivery of the line "I have wasted my life" when he comes face to face with a French cruise missile to be priceless.

But as for a favourite character....so difficult. I guess it would be Homer for two particular episodes. The one when the comet is bound for Springfield - the way Homer and everyone joins Ned outside the shelter at teh end is superb. And the one where Homer meets his spirit guide in the form of a Coyote voiced by Johnny Cash after eating Guatamalen Insanity Peppers.
