Are there any plans to make 'Sheffield forum' accessible via mobile internet devices - wap enabled (phones, pdas etc)
I suppose only a moderator can answer this...
would you use 'Sheffield forum' on the move? i.e. while on the bus/tram ?
To be quite honest, it should be already (it runs on php, which a wap browser should be capable of working with).
I know that one of my domains (written in php) was fully available through WAP enabled devices (though the server had no special software installed, and the nice GFX and effects were not present, and that was 3 years ago:o).
Just use the Java version of Opera on your phone. Works fine then.
I've tried using my k750i and it doesn't work, same with a nokia 6230

I'll give it a try, thanks
where can I get it from ?
I've found it and it works fine
thanks
I've accesssed/posted to SF from my mobile before. It's viewable, but it would be nice to see a specific "lo-fi" version for on-the-move people as GPRS data costs are still stupid :D
If there's cost involved in setting it up, I wouldn't mind signing up for a couple of quid a month for it as a "premium" service.
Although some site modifications are in the offing, this isn't one of them.
Although it can be viewed via mobile internet tools, the site isn't optimised in any way for these technologies, and whilst it is possible to do that to some degree by CSS, it's not on the list.
However, I will make a note!
Joe

I'm posting this from my PDA via my wireless network - works fine. It would be really good to use the chatroom, but it doesn't seem to load in Windows Mobile Explorer.
