Hello folks, just thought I'd introduce the concept of Paltalk to you all.
www.paltalk.com
Download the programme and create a user name.
Once installed select the 'Groups' option.
Select the tab at the bottom which states 'Show all adult groups'
Double click the 'Music' section and find the room titled 'Sheffield Forum'.
The password for entry is 'dabouncer'
Play music while using SF's chat room, people can take it turns.
Or tell jokes... whatever!

Nice app. Sound is terrible though isn't it. But I will be sure to login next time I am in chat.
I think it uses voice compression DSP so music sounds like pants.
Never mind, there's always Radio Phan (click sig!)
(broadcasting at random times throughout the daY)

Sound can be pants depending on your connection and the broadcasters settings.
When I play and people on BB are listening, the sound is top notch. This way it gives everyone a chance to add their own music. Take it in turns so to speak.
I'll Bump this message when i log into Paltalk.
In fact Phan, I'll send you the admin details to open the room for when I'm not there!

I think I'll have you all listening to the delights of Mysterious Girl tonight!!

First of all if someone is already playing music you need to let the others know you want a turn.
Follow the steps below to playing music in the Sheffield Forum Room (to get in the room follow the steps in the first post)!!!
Click the 'Req Talk' button (located at the bottom right of the paltalk room window
When it's your turn (your name with a hand showing will be next in the queue) press the 'Mic' icon (bottom left of the screen)
Then provided you have setup your system to play either via mic or internal just press play on the track, in either Media Player or Real Player and music should kick in.
Now the sound (when playing through the mic) may sound poo.
So use the steps below to setup your system to play music internally (feeds straight into Paltalk).
Start Menu
All Programs (XP users)
Accessories
Entertainment
Volume Control
(Now you're in the Volume Control Window)
Options
Properties
Playback will be selected - select Recording instead
Make sure the following are checked (ticked - and only the following).........
Recording Control
Stereo Mixer
CD Audio
Line In
Microphone
(ALL OTHERS SHOULD BE UN CHECKED)
Press OK
Now in the main 'Recording Control (volume control) window make sure the following is correct:
The only 'select' box to be checked (ticked) should be the Stereo Mixer
Make sure the volume is near the bottom - as it's this volume control that determines the sound - it only needs to be low
Now that the above is done, just minimise the volume control window (dont close it).
Play the music following the 1-2-3 steps at the top of this post.
You should see the red bar going up and down next to the mic, this indicates you are broadcasting on paltalk.
Remember: When you log into paltalk every new day you need to do the above (for the sound). However all you need do is steps (F) to (K) to make sure the sound is good!
All the best and happy Pal Talking.
PS Paltalk is open now
