View Full Version : The first thing you notice when you meet someone?
What is the first thing that you notice about somebody when you meet them for the first time?
Excluding anything they may say, I always look at their teeth and their shoes. Both should be well brushed and gleaming.
Can't stand it when people buy new shoes and never ever put polish on them.
Sam Miguel 12-02-2004, 19:03 Their eyes.
I study their eyes and make sure proper eye-contact is kept.
The eyes ... you can tell the most about a person thru eye contact.
SatanInHeels 12-02-2004, 19:20 eyes and hair.. people tell me that my eyes are the first thing they notice and it is the first thing i look at on other people i guess.
karandak 12-02-2004, 19:24 Most definitely the eyes, all sparkly and twinkly hehe mmmm...
...then there's the cheeky smile too!!
*goes off into a dream world* haha

I'll back that! If you consider someone with mirrored sunglasses on, you can't tell what they're really thinking. The eyes reveal so much about someone through expression. And they're pretty too.
The eyes, they never lie.
jackthedog 13-02-2004, 07:50 I'm gonna have to go with eyes and shoes.
The eyes is an obvious one, but I think the shoes you wear say a great deal about you. Is that shallow?
Daveyboy 13-02-2004, 08:03 There underwear you tend to have to use you imagination most of the time…..oh and you've got to try not to stair and drool that only invites trouble…… ;)
Obviously us men are infatuated with the qualities of a womans eyes. We lose ourselves looking longingly into them... then, when she looks away, we check out their tits and bits! :D

And get caught every single time.
But you don't always get called on it. They tell their mates afterwards. ;)
It's an eyes thing with me too, but I like to look at the face as a whole. I like a nice mouth and a good smile, and nice hair too. :)
Mosherchik 13-02-2004, 09:17 I agree with satan  eyes and hair! The more mischevious the eyes the better (especially if they happen to be adorned with eyeliner!!!!!! *swoon*) and the crazier the hair the better, Mmmmmmmmmmmmm dreadlocks :P :P :P :P :P
Personality wise, CRAZY!!! need lively crazy people cos they bring out the lively craziness in me! :headbang:

starchild 13-02-2004, 10:35 Ooooohhh....well said Moshy !!
First thing I'd notice would definitely be the hair...if it's long dark and sexy I would definitely take a second glance! :D

I look at the face as a whole too, cant beat a nice friendly face
Babooshka 13-02-2004, 15:33 They say.....(and who 'They' are I do not know)...that men prefer girls with big almond eyes, whilst girls prefer men with small, piercing eyes. Eyes are definitely the first thing you notice. I find myself attracted to certain face shapes. I personally don't go for the long, lean kind of faces but prefer a more oval or heart shape on my man. Hair isn't so important...as long as they aren't a Tefal head (sorry to all you Tefals!) nor am I bothered about a perfect set of teeth. In fact, one of the nicest smiles I have ever seen was on a guy who had a manky tooth, just right of centre. For some reason this tooth made his whole face light up and shine when he smiled. He had it corrected and filled and lost his 'je ne sais quoi' altogether. I used to love watching him smile. I like nice lips too! Sizing them up for a smooch! I HATE muscley men and I am not too partial to stick thin men...but I would rather have a stick thin man than a man with bulging muscles. Not too fussy am I?
Babooshka, ya yaaaaaa. ;) [/kate bush]
Glad to hear someone who isn't obsessive about guys with the 'perfect hollywood smile' cos not all of us have that and it always makes me feel rather self conscious about my crooked top right incisor. What can ya do eh? Short of having it straightened, (which I can't afford) not alot. Just grin and bear it. :D
I tend to go for medium build girls so after the eyes it's usually the face as a whole, then the build. I don't like waif-like girls as I'm worried about breaking them. I'm not exactly skinny as those who've met me will agree so I like a balanced weight ratio between the two of us. A tall (ish) girl with a cheeky/warm smile, around size 12-16 is good for me. Personality counts for a hell of alot though. :)
Babooshka 13-02-2004, 16:18 Hey Paulie, don't go worrying about that tooth. I don't know ANY girl who would give a toss about something like that. The types that WOULD care are probs so vain and false themselves, that even THEY don't know who the real 'they' are anymore. People have such ideas about 'perfection' and its' definition. Why should a set of bleached-white, straight teeth be considered perfect? It isn't natural in the majority of cases. I like natural. I like people who don't rely on trying to look a certain way to attract people. Everyone is so false these days. Give me a guy who can make me laugh and has enthusiasm for life ANY day! You can keep all those people who hide behind an image, a facade. I like someone who is REAL!!!
Ive got a slightly crooked left incisor :( from an accident when I was younger :(

He leaves it at the trade centre site. Homer then has many crab juice drinks and needs to go to the toilet to find they're not open due to cleaning so he has to run to the other one, very funny episode, one of my favourites!

Eyes, every time. There is so much you can tell about someone from their eyes - I believe a person's eyes are indeed the window to their soul.
Kind, deep, intelligent eyes with a wicked twinkle in them - mmmmm! Eyes you could drown in ......

LOL, mucho!
Yes the curvy, soft bits have to be gawped, sorry, looked at with discretion. Don't women do the same thing with men, though?
FairyNormal 12-03-2005, 20:20 I first notice the eyes then it has to be their teeth. I have a bit if a thing about teeth. An ex of mine seemed to have nice teeth on first appearance but infact he hardly ever brushed them, hadn't been to the dentist in years and his breath stank to high heaven. I couldn't kiss him becuase he wouldn't sort his teeth out. It just turned me right off. So to me I always look at their teeth!
I like open, friendly faces and seem to go for people who are original looking.
I did find it a little weird one time seeing lots of 'Rachels' or 'Avrils' wandering about town. It's also weird when you pass several guys all with the same hairstyle or wearing similar outfits.
It's one thing to notice someone's good bits at a distance or on a first meeting; but I have noticed how sometimes I can be chatting away to someone I wouldn't have given a second look at, only to then begin seeing lots of nice things.
Eyes and hair.
Eyes have to be brown and hair has to be none-existant.
Apart from that anything goes.
Eyes then hair then bum :D :D
Hair for me. If female, I have a bad habit of a glance at the breast department too
LoopyLou 14-03-2005, 11:35 For me to notice a guy, he has to be tall. At least 6 feet tall is a must.
Then once he has my attention, its down to the eyes, smile and GSOH.
My hubby is 6 feet five and has all these traits.....lucky me!!
sheffield501 14-03-2005, 23:12 eyes,
teeth/smile,
hair,
hands
accent
arms
bum
chest/shoulders
right little old shoppin list :)

Errr ... why is that a BAD habit !? (sound like a good habit to me!).
tslogf74 14-03-2005, 23:26 What first catches my eye really depends on the persons features. I think I can honestly say there is no one thing or group of things I consitently notice first.
Mmm Dark hair gets my attention, then a smiley face - a cheeky grin and smiley eyes. Personality is sooo important - must be fun and love a laugh.
Then if you've got broad shoulders and nice little bum, well I'm bowled over!
;)
