View Full Version : Getting Older, Want To Look Younger Thread. Hints - Tips.
Went to Poundland today. A trip out for me.
The amount of skin care stuff was amazing. And rather cheap.
I'm not getting any younger, and I have hit the stage in my life where I think its all going downhill. In the body and face department. This is depressing to say the least. I hate looking at trendy young people that look young.
I'm now on a mission to halt the ravages of time (and booze and a terrible diet) to make myself look younger and feel younger. Your opines on the help I need is most welcome.

liposucton and surgery..........:)
It's too expensive. Botox is the way to go, but that requires more money and people sticking some kinda rat urine into your head. No way I'm doing that.

I don't get out much, and the thought of hanging with 80 years olds would make me think and act like them. I would become an even bigger wreck of a human bean.
maxyross 28-01-2011, 20:40 Well, I would say this but, don't smoke, eat natural sensible foods AND only use natural skincare products containing no harmful chemicals (not tested on animals).
Body shop at Meadowhall ?
Last time I went into one of those trendy shops with 79 pound price tags for a bar of soap, I got followed by the security team. I just don't fit in with the that whole Yaris team. Sorry.

But all that stuff costs a fortune. I agree with the no testing on animals bit. Christ, if something was cheap and not tested and worked. they can test it me anytime. I don't have nothing to lose. Apart from a new head and stuff.

Why don't you just accept yourself for who you are. What do you want to change to look younger. We all are going to get older instead of seeing it as negative, embrace it. I can't wait to hit my thirties, forties. I see it as a positive, even my sixties :D growing old & bitter hehe. Seriously, even the trendy young people are going to get old one day ;)

Our products are sensibly priced (no VAT increse yet) and they are tested - on humans. Makes sense really. A human can tell you immediately if a product is OK or not without having enduring prolonged torture like animal testing causes.

My partner wears that look everyday, from her birth. God knows how many rubber bands I've bought her.

Sorry but reviewing just one product (Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser) I see it contains a lot of strong chemicals including Parabens (associated with cancer according to Wikipedia). For some manufacturers, Parabens is used as an anti-fungicide which allows the use of plain water rather than purified water and means that equipment doesn't have to be cleaned as often.

Where are modern haircuts at, that don't cost a bloody fortune? I want a modern haircut. (one that will stand up to a hard hat being on for eight hours and still look great ideally)

With good darkness, and a blurred picture bloke on ten cans of special brew with a vga camera, very close in my book.

Steady on, only just got over a slightly forward swept cut. And that was over a month ago so that's all gone to hell. Need a good haircut, it's annoying me now. (PS your pm's aren't working) :)

If we keep the light behind you and we're comparing the rresult to the Gypsy fighter in the film Snatch or the main character in the film Fight Clib, then the answer's "yes".

I can see that happening. Some hoovers can suck up mega soiled carpets. That, are literally cemented to the floor. It could happen on body bits inside the body.

Smile. A smile lifts the face, and helps stop jowls from drooping round your neck. Also, a lot of older people look miserable, and the scowl becomes permanent. Not a good look. ;)
And lastly, smiling makes you feel better, and its much nicer for everyone else to look at. :)

I agree. The only problem is smiling. I can do an earnest grin as such, but that's probably worst than frowning.

I fear you are probably too far gone for mere fish to render any improvement to your fizzog.
However, I'm currently looking after an old Staffy who loves to nibble feet. With a bit of training, I'm sure I could persuade him to nibble on faces, and you could be the volunteer to prove how effective this ground-breaking new treatment is!
But you'll have to make your mind up quickly, he's only here for another week or so! :hihi:

Shef_Fitness 29-01-2011, 09:40 Getting in shape is a good way of looking younger.
losing the excess weight, and becoming leaner and fitter is a good start, and if you lose the double chin then that goes a long way to looking younger.
Obviously, getting in shape can't change certain things such as grey hair - the solution to that one is a bottle of hair dye.
There are other factors such as genetics and nothing can change that.
Some people who are 45 have barely a wrinckle, yet another person at 25 could come with all the benefits of ageing younger, grey hair, perhaps baldness, hair growing out their ears and nose, and of course wrinkles
Flowersfade 29-01-2011, 10:16 Try exercise as someone mentioned it will keep you slim trim and tones.
