just thought i'd ask if anyone goes to climax? GLBT night. its at the fusion and foundry. its once a month (usually 3rd friday of the month)

i'm just bored this afternoon so just reading on here. :)

Climax's Christmas Special, Glitter-Ball will be on SATURDAY December 16th(Note: NOT a Friday as per usual)

There'll be PLENTY going on, plus I'll be there, straight after spending most of next week in Ireland doing a TV show appearance and a charity show as well!!!

Advance Tickets available from Dempseys.

Also, the annual all-day extravaganza VIVA CLIMAX is on at the University Students Union venue/Interval Bar on Saturday 2nd August.

Well VIVA CLIMAX has come upon us.

Viva Climax is back for its 6th Annual all day event.
Starting in the interval at 2pm with great music, fantastic drinks offers, BBQ & cocktail bar, Temporary Tattoo's, makeovers and more.
From 8pm in the Interval you have Anti-climax, Climax's alter ego with guest DJs playing you the very best in Electro, indie riot and sleezy pop.
The Climax doors open from 10pm with resident DJ Scott Kelly in the foundry playing all the best pop and chart tunes to get ya on your feet. Then in the fusion is that cool mix of Indie, funk and RnB.
Coming to the Climax Stage this year we have the one and only Bradley from Sclub performing for you some huge! Sclub hits. Along with the newest up and coming girl group the Dolly Rockers performing their debut hit 'Je Suis Un Dolly' before the hit the main stage at this years Manchester Pride.

And speaking of Manchester Pride this year viva climax is giving away accomodation and entry to this years Manchester Pride BIG WEEKEND. Put your name down during the day and a winner will be chosen at random on the night!!! Don't miss your chance!!!!!

All open until the early hours of the morning, well 4/5am. Then there is Climax itself closing at a early time of 3am-ish and the most expensive of the 5.

Does anyone know if you can get into Climax after 12 midnight if you've got a ticket? I don't finish until 12 so wont get there till about 12.20. I was going to send them a message on facebook, but my comp conked on me - and I can't get on facebook where I am.

It's just I'm sure it says you can't, BUT, if you already have a ticket - and a valid reason for not being able to get there until 12 - does anyone know if they may bend the rules a little?

Not particularly no, I only go cos everyone seems from the scene goes and you see people you don't usually see when going to Dempseys etc. I have to say now i spend more time in the smaller room because the main room is far too cheesy (no offence to DJ Scott because he's a nice guy but i just don't enjoy the music) and camp. Its really annoying when songs are repeated in both rooms but i've heard it happen in the same room aswell.

Agreed, it is the atmosphere you go for not the music. Personally it is exactly the same as you can hear anywhere else, but it pleases the masses, so who can argue. It is clearly the fact it is busy and it is an 'event', if it was ran every week it wouldn't get half the turn out.

Then saying that I haven't missed one for about 18 months lol, last Friday I dont remember leaving to go to Lions, so must have enjoyed it!

see i just think the scene is fickle...at the moment we have new peeps on board to play rahrahrah...and will be presenting guest djs monthly....but then some drunken people like to dance to music thay know.

It doesn't cater for all. Like James says it caters for the masses who like cheesy music.

I agree the atmosphere is the reason we go. I see loads of friends i don't often see elsewhere.

However, I do think having the DJ that played at SY Pride and 'Whilst other girls do their makeup' (do they still play?) have revived the second room at Climax a little as it can be a little boring hearing the same songs each month in the main room. This is why we often stay in the second room.

Just to let folks know, next month there will be TWO Climaxes, including the regular one on the 3rd Friday, and a Halloween Special at the end of the month. Look on the Climax website or Facebook for exact dates!
