Pants Alive!

I've just invested a cool K in one of these. (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1706540,00.asp)

Now less than 4 weeks later I have managed to blow the goddam speakers!

What is the point in having a fantastic entertainment centre with 'real ~ (not the usual tinny laptop) ~ speakers' If they are going to blow when you pump Madonna up to the max???? Didn't HP think that a limiter might be in order??

I ask you.

I'm with you on this one - if it's supposed to play music, it's supposed to play music. Nobody forks out that much dosh just to hear windows go 'doobiedodah' everytime you power up :suspect:

Exactly how long have you had your new laptop?
If it's over a month old the shop will almost certainly refuse to exchange it. They will either send it off for repair or tell you to get in touch with the manufacturer.

If it goes in for repair you'll lose your laptop for at least two weeks, although i have just got mine back today after being without it for a month :(

Check that rceipt and take it back tomorrow :wink:

I have fixed my old laptop with a handy recovery disk, so at least I wont be <shudder> "Off-line".

Damnation. The receipt is dated 14.10.05.

I have missed the 1 month deadline.

It would be a brave store manager who rejected your replacement for the sake of 2 days Deavon.

Take it back and tell them you want a replacement. If they refuse ask for the store manager and ask for a full refund!
You are well within your rights to ask for a refund and the store manager will not want to deal with an irate customer on a Tuesday morning ;)

Just tell him the laptop is not fit to perform the job specified.
