George Hrab is a musician and host of the popular Geologic Podcast. It was as a drummer that he performed for President Clinton at the White House, entertained 5000 fans at the Astrodome during Super Bowl XXXVIII's festivities, played gigs at The Kennedy Center and New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, and even shared the stage with Elton John at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center.
George, however, frequently steps outside his role as a drummer. He has released his fourth independent album titled "Coelacanth", once again writing and performing on guitar, bass, keys, vocals and drums. This well received album was premiered and performed in its entirety by George's eight-piece rock-fusion-funk-classical-jazz band, the Geologic Orchestra. His writing -- much as his playing -- combines a diversity of influences ranging from Ellington's A-Train to Zappa's Zombie Woof.
For one night only in Sheffield, guitar in hand, George will be performing a solo acoustic set, along with the usual heavy dose of comedy, skepticism, audience participation, and snappy dressing.
Doors open at 7.30pm for 8pm start on Tuesday 8th February.
Tickets are £5 and available on the door or pre-book here (http://www.the-plug.com/events-and-tickets/live/george-hrab-golden-ticket-tour).
