Bluelunar 12-02-2004, 13:24 hey i used to be a fan of chris moyles when i used to listen to radio 1! (the 4pm show) but i dont listen to the radio anymore :-( i thought he was funny and he always made me laugh!! :D jackthedog 12-02-2004, 13:28 Sorry, Chris MORRIS... not Moyles! nomme 12-02-2004, 13:29 Originally posted by Bluelunar hey i used to be a fan of chris moyles when i used to listen to radio 1! Nomme RPG 12-02-2004, 14:47  Yeah, im a fan of Chris Morris, hes excellent :D Really winds up the Daily Mail as well, which is always a laugh  Phanerothyme 12-02-2004, 15:19 His suicide column in the observer took a lot of people in. Inspirational Satire - Just to watch Noel Edmonds expound the dangers of 'cake' is enough, but the rest is equally astonishing. Armando Ianuuci (sp?) too. slh73 12-02-2004, 17:17 Got any Clarky Cats? What about Yellow Bentines? Genius mojoworking 12-02-2004, 22:07 Was he in the second series of Alan Partridge? I think he played the irate farmer RPG 12-02-2004, 22:21 Originally posted by mojoworking Was he in the second series of Alan Partridge? I think he played the irate farmer 1st Series, as the farmers union rep. Alan: "I wish to apologise for my comments regarding a cows spine in a bap" Chris Morris: "Well, good thats a step in the right direction" Alan: "well, it would be more accurate to say a spine in a baguette" (or words to that effect) mojoworking 12-02-2004, 22:26 Sorry, I meant second series overall (following Knowing Me Knowing You), but you're right, it was the first series of I'm Alan Partridge. Alan: "You are a big posh sod with plums in your mouth!" BrainThrust 13-02-2004, 00:53 he did the Brass eye special didn't he? I thought that was inspired, the facts it caused so much outrage from a certain area of the media *coughcoughdailymailandtabloidscoughcough* proved the point that it was actually having a go at, nothing to do with what the special was actually supposed to be about. No dpoubt other people have other views, i though it was brave, done in such a way that i lost all belief that the form of broadcasting (the news type style) was telling the truth about anything. More tot he point it really was very funny. Chris Morris is a true comic genius of the inherent situation of the world nowadays. Wilf Tony 13-02-2004, 07:16 Utter genius .... even if Jam did get a bit up its own *rse at times. One of his all time greats was Sheffield related too... Remember the Sheffield Paedophile disguised as a school? jackthedog 13-02-2004, 08:09 Jam was beyond me i'll admit. Totally went over my head. But The Day Today and Brass Eye were, for me, some of the best televisual treats ever to be seen. And I doubt they'll ever be topped. The Paedophile Brass Eye special was only made better by the media hype it caused. The press were justifying it by ranting on about how disgusting it was. Chris Morris merely made the first half hour of that show, the press finished it off, in all it's glory. A Brass Eye special on terrorism is overdue I reckon. Come on Chris, you know you wanna. Tony 13-02-2004, 08:43 The Paedophile Brass Eye special was fabulous. I saw it before the main release and just knew what was going to happen when it went mainstream. Amazingly, the media just didn't get the point of the parody and satire and fell into the totally obvious (to me anyway) trap that had been set. Nonce-Sense!!!!! jackthedog 13-02-2004, 08:44 Inspired Genuis. chill 13-02-2004, 08:44 Originally posted by jackthedog A Brass Eye special on terrorism is overdue I reckon. Come on Chris, you know you wanna. The man Morris has actually had quite a few digs at The War Against Terror. He released that Bushwacked clip of an edited version of the State of the Union Address (available on the Warp records website), and used to have a fake news site at smokehammer.com. You always felt he was building up to something, but nothing ever really came of it all. fnkysknky 14-02-2004, 16:19 Originally posted by Tony The Paedophile Brass Eye special was fabulous. Yeah me too and still got it on video somewhere, laughed so much my sides hurt. The part about the Sheffield paeodophile disguised as a school was genius :) tinajones 15-02-2004, 18:46 Blue Jam.. Sketches for the disturbed... fantastic! 'doc phone' cracks me up! BrainThrust 15-02-2004, 19:00 Jam was messed up. The six year old 'cleaner' was the best i ever saw. That was so messed up. And i thought Big train was disturbed, nothing compared to that. Wilf Tony 15-02-2004, 22:12 Ah yes.... Big Train!! Top firemen! chill 19-02-2004, 20:45 This a couple of snippets of info about the new Morris show here (http://media.guardian.co.uk/brasseye/story/0,10933,1004580,00.html) and here (http://chilled.cream.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2157). Lickable 20-02-2004, 12:28 He is a genius! Now i just want to know... how many people that like Chrish Morris also like Family guy? jackthedog 20-02-2004, 13:18 Hmm, not me i'm afraid. Never got into it that much. It's funny, but never thought that much of it. You a big fan, Lick? fnkysknky 20-02-2004, 14:44 I've laughed when I've seen Family Guy but that's few and far between, don't even know what channel it's on... BrainThrust 20-02-2004, 18:00 I love family guy. it was the only reason that my new year was bearable (damn flu). My favourite bit is when peter is in a courthouse and is on trial, the prosecution says somethign really damning about him and Lois gos "oh no!", Brian goes "Oh no!" and a giant jug bursts through the wall and cackles shouting "oh yes! oh yes!" WTF? Wilf Lickable 20-02-2004, 18:19 Family guy is amazing! Seth macfarlane is a star... and... he is making a 4th season and... a movie... and american dad, a new cartoon thats a bit like family guy with a talking french fish! I have a happy year ahead! Alastair 11-05-2008, 14:18 I think the man is a genius. Some people hate him. What do you think? I think he's a genius. Don't see much of his satire on TV now though, more's the shame. melthebell 11-05-2008, 14:52 I think he's a genius. Don't see much of his satire on TV now though, more's the shame. didnt he fall out with the tv company? and interspersed some very quick images slagging em off in his last show for em? the mans a legend not all his stuff works 100% all the time but when it does its absolutely brilliant Swan_Vesta 11-05-2008, 17:25 didnt he fall out with the tv company? and interspersed some very quick images slagging em off in his last show for em? the mans a legend not all his stuff works 100% all the time but when it does its absolutely brilliant I believe the subliminal image stated that "Michael Grade is a 'Rather naughty word'" - That was a cause of some furore. Chris Morris is funnier than dangling a can of Tennants on a piece of fishing line over a group of bums. Fivetide 11-05-2008, 18:26 Chris Morris - Genius. The Day Today, Brass Eye... never heard the Jam things... but... anyone here ever see Nathan Barley? Omigodz it was SO LOLLZERZ!!111!!1oNE! /l33t. It was where the Mighty Boosh guys came from... a very poor imitation I thought. Oh, and Family Guy? Nah, not for me. I found it slightly generic and predictable... hawell, can't luv em all. BoroughGal 11-05-2008, 18:26 I think he's a genius - utterly fantastic. And I love Jam too (have the dvd....). Can be uncomfortable viewing, but I like that in comedy. muddycoffee 11-05-2008, 18:53 Chris Morris gets my vote too. Utterly brilliant. Mod_Man 11-05-2008, 19:07 I heard and read (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/now-chris-morris-sees-the-funny-side-of-suicide-bombers-440577.html) that terrorists are his next target. Loved the day today and brass eye. Never got to see Jam to rate it. muddycoffee 11-05-2008, 19:28 I heard and read (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/now-chris-morris-sees-the-funny-side-of-suicide-bombers-440577.html) that terrorists are his next target. Loved the day today and brass eye. Never got to see Jam to rate it. That article was written over a year ago in March 2007. I always take with a pinch of salt anything I read in the press about him because half of it is himself up to his tricks again. Alastair 12-05-2008, 08:13 It was reported in January this year that the Chris Morris terrorist film is being made and there's even a local connection as Sheffield based Warp Films are involved, who also made the movie "This is England". http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/film/article3177654.ece Kthebean 12-05-2008, 08:59 My favourite is The Day Today. I love it. Agent Gypo 12-05-2008, 09:19 Morris is working on a satire of terrorists with Charlie Brooker, and the pair of them are said to be working on series two of Nathan Barley. Kthebean 12-05-2008, 09:42 Morris is working on a satire of terrorists with Charlie Brooker Oh happy days  Annoni_mouse 12-05-2008, 10:24 My favourite is The Day Today. I love it. I agree - I personally don’t think he ever bettered it. Brass Eye was great, but wasn't as consistent, and I never really got Jam. Loved Nathan Barley, though  Agent Gypo 14-05-2008, 22:02 I love Jam, it still amazes me that it was shown on tv at all. Some of my favourite Jam moments: Titles for episode one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crm6AQVYj1Q) Doctors surgery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jux-Zi-IucU&feature=related) And a few bits of Chris Morris' other work you may not have seen: George Bush - doctored keynote speech (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlDsk56-5vE) Chris Morris interrupts live television (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ecxW3KPUD4) Chris Morris phones The Sun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEGE2ohMnh8&feature=related) Agent Gypo 14-05-2008, 22:12 And loads from Charlie Brooker (Brass Eye Paedophile special and Nathan Barley writer): Charlie Brookers' Screenwipe - This user has loads of the series on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/xthemusic) Screenburn - Guardian archive (http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguide/brooker) Comment is free - Guardian archive (http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/charlie_brooker/) slimsid2000 15-05-2008, 13:04 I think the man is a genius. One of his all time greats was Sheffield related too... Remember the Sheffield Paedophile disguised as a school? I was going to write that too! firstmanonth 08-05-2009, 08:58 They are filming something around Sheffield at the moment, and I reckon it might be this. Yesterday, they were filming an armed police scene on the Moor, and today they are filming a load of asian blokes with beards in the back of a white van at the bottom of Bramall Lane. Let's hope it's this! BasilRathbon 08-05-2009, 09:46 I remain mystified by the deification of Chris Morris. Yes, he came up with a few ideas that captured the zeitgeist in the 1990s and effectively satirised the media, but it's "clever" comedy rather than "funny" comedy which I find a bit patronising and elitist. All too often the idea is better than the actuality - I'm sure we can all guess exactly what this "terrorist" film is going to be like. onetwo07 08-05-2009, 11:53 'Sebastian Coe...
