We're planning a visit to Dublin and I wondered if anyone had any advice on where the best places/bars to visit are?

Temple Bar is the most popular area for visiters to go out drinking. Some real nice bars down there and the people are always friendly.

If your planning on going soon take plenty of jumpers/coats with you as this time of year it will be freezing! Also take plenty of cash with you!!!

Definitely go to the Guinness factory for your free pint!

Have some tea at Bewleys! It's a fabulous building.

Grafton steet is the main drinking area lots of bars but it is a bit like walking up fargate. Temple bar is nice, again lots of bars but its a bit quainter with its cobbles and oldy worldy feel. I'll second the visit to the Guinness brewery idea, although most young Irish seem to drink Harp lager or Magners cider for some reason.
