Cost of Christmas and new year festivities weighing you down? Need help coping with your disco commitments? Could you do with consolidating all your nights out into one manageable monthly soirée?

Brand new to you, from the makers of Diasha, Subject* and Don't Walk.....Boogie!

PHONO.

Yeah that's right, three of Sheffield's premier purveyors of all things lovely and deep are joining forces to hit you with a brand new house night that promises......hang on a minute.....Diasha's back?!?! Yes indeedy, after more than a year out of the game we're over the moon to welcome Diasha back onto the scene. Oh how Sheffield nightlife has missed you! You may well know that Subject* & DWB worked together for the awesome Afronaught party in October and we've teamed up with the lovely folks at Diasha to pool our resources and experience into putting on an exciting new monthly club night at Sawa. Please, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for our new baby.....Phono.

If you've been to any of our nights in the past, you'll know you can expect only the finest in deep and cutting-edge house from any of our three crews. Between us, we reckon we've got just about all bases covered and will endeavour to bring you something new and wonderful every month, where we can keep the vibe moving and changing whilst sticking to the common thread that binds us together. From Detroit to Disco, it's all house music and it's all good.

Individually we've booked acts such as Atjazz, Pete Dafeet, Simbad, Charles Webster, Crazy P, Rhythm Plate, Fish Go Deep, Inland Knights and of course yer man Afronaught (Bugz in the Attic), so you'll pretty-much know how we roll by now and our track record for championing quality electronic music is there for all to see. We've got some exciting guests lined-up for future Phono events - both established underground talent and the hottest up-and-coming artists - but there's no better way to introduce ourselves than to host a good old-fashioned residents tear-up........and that's exactly what we intend to do!

Your Phono residents team:

Dan J

Alex Cooke

Paul Growns & Chris Moore (GrowMore - BBC Radio 1 'In New DJ's We Trust)

Dan Thorman

This is a two-room event and downstairs we'll be taking you to "The Flipside", where we'd like to put our own little twist on the classic 'back room' sound by having erstwhile house DJs take the helm play you the rest of their record collections. Hosted by the marvellous Mr Thorman, it gives folks the chance to spread their musical wings and the share the other music they love, so expect to hear new and old soul, cosmic funk, afro-latino stuff, proper hip-hop, reggae, broken beats, re-edits and all that general jazzy business.

* Saturday 5th Feb and first Saturday of the month thereafter

* Sawa, Arundel Gate, Sheffield (just left of the O2 Academy)

* Bar from 9pm, Loft opens 11pm - close whenever we're finished.

*£3/4 all in.

That is all.

Pleased to confirm that our guest for this night will be;

ALEX ARNOUT (Dogmatik Records, London)

We're chuffed to be able to bring local lad Alex up from London to play a guest slot at our first night. Alex is a stalwart on the underground house scene in London having worked with the likes of Daz I Kue from Bugz In the Attic and Clive Henry from the mighty DC-10. When not recently traversing the planet DJ'ing, Alex can be regularly seen spinning at Fuse @ 93 Feet East and Egg, London, as well as Fabric and popular spots in Ibiza, Barcelona and Tokyo.

Hope you can join us!
