I went to St peters, (1958-60), when it first opened. My main teacher was Mr Thompson, a smashing man, but some of them were cruel buggers, especially the nuns, it put me off religion for life,
I was the captain of the house football team (Ludlum).
I can't remember the names of the other houses. Can anyone help me out?

They were Campion, Fisher, Ludlam & Moore. I went a little later 1978 -83. Though my Mum went when it first opened...

The whole site is soon to become a housing development. Along with the old Colley Site.

I was there when Charlie Martin was Head.
Other teachers I remember -

Mr Anion ??
Giles
Stanton
Latham
Mc Nerny ?
Pop Walsh
Farrell
Cherry - Woodwork
Swinden - Metal

Nuns - Josie ( Evil Nun)

Veronica (Nice Nun)

A tough school - fights daily - cane ruled -battles with Colley Kids
- wrecked school buses - great school puddings - good flat
footy pitch - great days.

I was in love with a girl called Philomena...
It wasn't reciprocated.

When I was there Fitzpatrick was the head.
I remember Anyon (smarmy). Bernard Giles was a good teacher though. Was Pop Walsh the same one who taught at St Pats?
Farrell was a big head, I didn't like Cherry, cos I was crap at Woodwork.

I was at St pats 1950-54 then went to Tommy Mores until 1956,
then went back to St Pats until 1958, then to St Peters and left in 1960 to start work at Firth-Browns.

I left St Peters in 1983, same as Zobra (I must know him).
My mum also went there & would've left in 1962 or 63. However she didn't go that much as she was bullied by a gang of girls.

I did'nt go to St Peters but..........
the thread prompted me to remember one lads name that did !
He was called Ronnie Bryan and I was at Chaucer in 1961 playing centre half at footie against St Peters and their centre forward was Ronnie. I've still got the bruises. He seemed to be twice as big and twice as strong as anyone else. I'm not sure but I think he got 6 goals that day.He went on, I think,to play for Sheffield Boys.
Anyone remember him ?

I was at St Peters from 1961 to 1965. I had a brilliant time. I organised a reunion in 2000. 120 poeple turned up, some i hadn't seen for 35 years. A truly unforgettable night. Norman Cherry, Father Hurley. I also met Frank Farmery a few months later. he was visiting Sheffield from his home in France. Lets get going down memory lane. I could talk for hours.

Yes, I remember Ronnie well. I played in the same Sheffield Boys team. Ron went on to play for England Boys and later signed apprentice Pro for Wednesday. Unfortunately,he didn't get through the ranks. He was a good schoolboy player and a very nice lad

I was in Ronnies' Sheffield Boys team along with Dave Travis and Robin Lee who also went to St Peters. Any idea what happened to them?
