I had a strange letter in the post yesterday. It was from stagecoach announcing their new bus route the number 79.

Included in this letter was a voucher for a free weekly bus ticket. Has to be presented on the 79 route to recieve the ticket but can be used on all stagecoach routes. I think you can even get another one when this one has run out.

I don't catch buses, I have no idea how they got my details.
But does anyone on here think they can use it?

The 79 bus runs from Batemoor to Ecclesfield via Norton, Hemsworth, Heeley Green, SUFC, City Centre, Penistone Road, SWFC, Wadsley Bridge and Wordsworth Avenue.

Sheffield Weekly Megarider is £10 for bus only version or £12 bus & tram version. There is also a £17 'Gold' version that includes travel to Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield and Matlock.

I got one through for the number 87 route..addressed to me rather than the household and I've never given my details to them!

Some readers may not like Stagecoach however you must give them credit for marketing their business. It has used street side bill boards - radio - tv - direct mailing to households along its bus routes.I am not aware of First SY every going to this level of marketing to grow its business.

I have also received this letter with the voucher.

from the letter it seems like stagecoach are targeting car drivers with this voucher for a weeks free travel to try to get them to try out buses...if anyone has any vouchers they wont use i could do with a couple more lol...
