i have got a contract phone handset i have been restricted from making any more calls on it.

my contract is still running but could i get the handset unlocked to use with a different companys sim card or would unlocking not work thanks

if its a contract phone its more than likely unlocked, o2, voda and tmobile usually have theirs unlocked as std. orange are picky.

unlocking it would let you use another simcard tho :)

if its barred, then thats a whole different ball game.

i have only been barred from making calls from t mobile can t mobile block the phone cos at the moment i can still use it with a virgin sim card. thanks

darkcharm, what make of phone do you have. If it's a Nokia, there is a website (and I'm sure someone here will give you the link, or you can do a search of SF) where you can unlock Nokia phones for nothing.

If it's not a Nokia, then, try typing "unlock [make of phone]" (or variations to that) into google, and see what it brings up.
