How do you go about this?

Went last weekend somewhere out Eckington way (cant remember the name, had a sailing club too, began with an 'H') with friends who 'claimed' to know what they were doing;) but didnt get a sniff all day long.
I have no idea what I'm doing out there, but maybe some helpful forumers can give me some tips and tricks of the trade?:thumbsup:

Does anyone know what place im talking about? If so do you know what other fish are in there and how to get them, or the best places etc? Going again this weekend.:thumbsup:
