Sterling Commodities v Sheffield Forum

Halfway Junior School

We have one of our top players set for a return after a lenghty spell on the sidelines after a painfull knee injury, Joe Neate and 2 new signings, Liam and Nathan will be joining us for the first time in this match.

Match was arranged at short notice after Sterlings opponents are still in the FA County Cup meaning they had to play a game for them rather than the league match. So looks like we return to action stronger and with a full squad of 16 for the first time since the season began.

Out to wipe out the defeat in the first match of the season! First match of a tough month now for us playing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 3 weeks with Forum 2010 and Crookes Valley to follow!

Kick off is at 11am.

Well we played 2nd place today and lost 2-1 at their pitch. We were leading 1-0 and held on to that lead until around 65/70 minutes in to the match. Unfortunately they grabbed an equaliser to set up a tight finish.

With just a couple of minutes remaining, a goal mouth scramble in our area led to Sterling scoring a winner. Various blocks and saves but the referee judged the ball to have crossed the line at some point in the scramble despite protests from SFFC players and keeper (ME!) laid on the floor after my arm had been stood on when getting hands on the ball.

Goal stood, we threw everything forward for the last minute but the scoreline stood at 2-1 to Sterling. Really proud of the players, it was a fantastic performance and we will move on now as we face 1st place next weekend and 3rd the week after.

Unlucky today!

Yeah he left but we signed up another 2 players last weekend. At this moment in time we are unsure as to whether to sign anyone else as we should have 16, although only had 13 Sunday. 16 active players in the side at the moment.

More than welcome to come training with us. We were keen to sign you up but never got the de-registrations sorted. More than welcome to come training, same time same place.
