Talk to your doctor. He is best placed to diagnose you, and tell you what treatment you may need.

Your sternum and ribs won't hurt excessively just because you're growing! ;)

have you had a cough recently, the pain maybe due to strain from coughing

They can do actually, as can any of your bones and joints.

However, I don't think that anybody other than a doctor can give you a proper answer as to why you're feeling this way ianb1992, as your symptoms could be anything from a small strain that will go away in a few days to pleurisy or pleurodynia.

As others have said, please stop searching for symptoms like this as all it will do is scare you and it still won't give you a proper diagnosis and help you work out whether this is normal or something to get scared about.

My advice is to never get medical advice from a forum. Even if you Google your symtoms ,you could get it wrong. Go to your GP, and he will send you for an Xray.:)

i will do on monday college test tomoz :( its just that every single symptom i have it correspondes with costochondritis. in all my life if never took any form of tablet or medicine i usely just let my body sort it out its probably why im imune to these colds and flu's, what every 1 seems to be getting lol. but this pain feels really weird to me thanks 4 advice anyway people, much appreciated
