Does anyone know where I can find a list/website of the ex-council houses that are for sale in Sheffield?

Obviously I need to start looking but paying full prices isn't an option as I don't earn nearly enough.

Any info would be much appreciated

Any ex council houses that are for sale will be sold via estate agents, of which there are many in Sheffield. Best bet is to buy the Sheffield Telegraph on a Friday.

There is no central list, just what each estate agent is selling on behalf of their clients.

Mark Jenkinson, estate agents, have regular auctions which include Council property. Go here:

Mark Jenkinson (http://www.markjenkinson.co.uk/)

for details of their next auction.

ex council houses for sale, are obviously not advertised as ex council houses in the advertisment.

Although you will find them to be the lower end of the scale of the housing market

You will be paying FULL PRICE for them of course, as they are now private.

Get yourself a bargain if you like DIY...the council sells off vacant properties at a discount (say...16 grand for instance) and then there is a legal requirement for you to renovate that property with money not disimilar to the amount of the discount. They sell loads of properties in Shirecliffe and surrounding areas that need doing up.

There was something in the paper last week about selling old run down council houses in the north of Sheffield at a reduced price, but you had to promise to bring them up to specified standard within 2 years. Contact the council and ask them about it.

Hi

The council houses that are for sale on Shirecliffe are going very cheap, it's called homesteading and you have to sign to say you will spend at lease £7000 on the house to bring it upto spec.
