me and the missis went a couple of sundays ago,it was packed so after about a 15 min wait we were shown to our table,we were then told to go and help ourselves to some food, while we were at the buffet another waiter gave our table to another couple,we were left stood there like a couple of lemons with our meal and no where to sit, after a few mins i just put down my plate on the side walked down to the one on commercial street where we easily found a table and had a very nice meal **** off jumbo muppets :(

What excellent Service Kirky!

You would have thought they had some system when they were busy like that - shows what thought did!

The one opposite Ponds Forge is lovely.

Very busy the night we went, and the food was absolutely gorgeous and plenty of it, but it does feel a bit like you're sitting in the middle of the school dinner hall sometimes :P

It's the over eager staff that sometimes put me off, it can feel like they're hovering just a little too close for comfort.

Food's top notch though.

Been to the one opposite Ponds Forge a couple of times, and its been ok, but the last time we went 9 out of the 12 of us who went got such bad food poisining they were all off work for a week, so we wont go there again. Went to Jumbo on a Saturday lunchtime a couple of weeks ago, and it was really busy. Food was excellent though, and Id imagine itll be even better when they open the upstairs so theyve got a bit more space to fit people in.

It's £4.99 per person at lunchtime. They open at mid day and you eat as much as you want and can stay for 90 mins. Price excludes drinks of course.

I'm going there on Monday and Tuesday with some people; there goes my diet again :P

Hope they have better hygiene standards than the York branch:

(BTW not casting aspersions, in case they are reading, and I ever eat there!)

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience - the waiter told us we could use our loyalty card to have a free meal for 1 but when we came to pay, the staff became aggressive and we were accused of lying! We were told that we were all mistaken and they denied what the waiter had told us, then they CALLED THE POLICE over a £5.99 meal! When we were finally forced to pay they refused to 'stamp' my loyalty card (despite their promises) and we were told not to come back! My advice is to avoid at all costs. P.S. £3 for a bottle of water is a bit steep too

Yes, the chicken is Halal....and it's now £5.99 before 4.30. You pay on arrival so if you get there just before half four and pay £5.99 you get to taste some of the early evening dishes.

Tap water is now free. They still do the loyalty card.

I eat there regularly....was in there yesterday. Last weekend we used our loyalty cards for the Grand Buffet.....which should be £9.99.

It's not the top restaurant but then it never professed to be....it's good basic Chinese at a good price....you get 90 minutes to eat all you can.

What more can I say......apart from the Chilli prawns are fabulous :D

I've been once, it was horrible, everything was swimming in grease and tasted like it has all been fried together.

Flaming Dragon is very nice. We go there often. The fresh cooking is a nice touch but the food has always been top notch the place is spotless and the staff are great.

It's turning in to my weekly treat!

Yes, Flaming Dragon is nice.

Flaming Dragon is nice in a different way.

Both places do different dishes with different styles and techniques.....I think it all comes down to personal preference.

The decor certainly is much better at Flaming Dragon...but I didn't much care for the food...except one of the soups which was lovely. :D
