I went last year and thought it was a fantastic place.

Am I the only one who thinks it is the U.S equivalent of Sheffield?

I've been there and I can't say it reminded me of Sheffield in particular. There are trams, though, and some pretty steep hills too.

I can't compare the Golden Gate bridge to the Tinsley viaduct...no matter how hard I try...

Seemed pretty similar to me!

Imagine taking your loved one on a romantic stroll over Tinsley Viaduct. Beautiful :)

It was the most fantastic place i've ever been in my life. I felt like I could live there as soon as I arrived. It's got an excellent atmosphere and the people are great. If I won the lottery i'd be gone like a flash.

it'd have to be a big win though, I was looking at real estate out there and the prices are just beyond stupid :wow:

Shame it could all be flattened if the much overdue big earthquake hits...

San Francisco is great I visited it in 2001...

The atmosphere is incomparable to Sheffield...not better...nor worse...just different- and therefore I don't think it's the States' equivalent of Sheffield, I actually think New York is- the parks, Brookyln bridge connection, Brooklyn Works in Kelham Island, little 'villages' within the city...Crookes reminds me of Brooklyn... :D

Hmm. It was a bit of a light hearted statement when I said it was like Sheffield.

It's hilly, its friendly, it's a nice place to be, there's nice views, nice green spaces etc. Err, they have trams...

Okay I take it back. It's nothing like at all.

NYC is nothing like Sheff either though.

Cant vouch for the angel bit having never seen you, but i'm sure that, from an American's point of view, anybody from outside the U.S might as well be from another planet...

I just got loads of
"oh so your from Engerland yeah? You guys are great. Do you know Tony Blair? He's a really great guy dontcha think?"
