View Full Version : Who is addicted to the internet?
flowerfairy 08-11-2005, 16:17 I was just thinking back to the days when no-one had the internet. I spend at least an hour a day online but i have no idea what i used to do with those hours years ago!
I have some friends who are completely addicted to the net and spend all day tapping away!

I was once very addicted... it seemed all my friends lived in cyber space... back then... Moved on since :)
Nowadays i get sick of the internet... there's only so much i can take now... like you i was on it for hours... literally hours... day & night... it seems all so crazy now... think i just realised there was more to life than a screen and keyboard... lol
Dont get me wrong i do still enjoy chatting to mates and looking for interesting things that i need or want to know about... but other than that... not bovered  :hihi:
One sure fire way to kick an internet addiction. . start working for an ISP. .
Once you've been sat at a PC for 9 hours, sorting other peoples internet connections, sometimes cannot be bothered at all with your own PC.
This aint a negative, as you'll find you do use your PC/internet if you have an actuall reason and it cuts down on the "what was I gonna do online" when you get to the keyboard. .

Been there munky, but going by the current breed of Technical Support engineers you would need a frontal lobotomy to come anywhere close to one!
I called a well known Sheffield based ISP (Who I used to work for) once to ask about Kilostream and what the current offerings where. The guy didn't know what a Kilostream was!!!
DragonofAna 08-11-2005, 18:13 Fox20thc is an addict. Every day I come here whilst browsing the internet, and every day I see Fox in here. If that aint an internet addict then I want someone to tell me what is - if they can catch me between web pages loading up that is. ;)
Course I'm not an addict. If I thought I was then I may just stop using the damned machine. ;)

DragonofAna 08-11-2005, 18:28 Don't you ermmmmm .... yes .... me young lady. I'll have you know I was born before the internet was a twinkle in your mothers eye. I'll be having none of that cheek.
Just cos I am not in my early twenties does not mean I am computer illiterate. I dunno what it means but I've had all my injections against computer virus's ;)

Well, I'm an addict of the forum, but I would say I'm a lighter user than many on here, naming no names, **coughStrixcough**
I can definitely go a few days without.
But I currently have an old pal over for a few days and rather than engaging in conversation, here I am typing away!
Now that's a bit sad really.
er.... Deavon (http://www.thorntonross.com/healthcare/product_images/covonia.jpg)........ :suspect:
Cliff Clavin 08-11-2005, 23:09 I'm not addicted, I can pack it in whenever I want.
The thing is I enjoy it and as soon as I dont enjoy it thats when i'l leave it alone.
spiderman 09-11-2005, 08:04 A bit addicted to the forun at the mo but thats cos I just joined, maybe the novelty will wear off soon;)
Having said that I was on the pc quite a bit before the forum. I'm lucky that i can sneak quite a bit of time on the net when I am supposed to be working!
Dont tell the boss:gag:
Agent Orange 09-11-2005, 10:40 Yes, very much addicted, but don't spend half as much time on here these days. I remember the days when I required counselling when I couldn't get my daily internet fix lol.
