Sunday we have a folk festival with 4 great bands....1pm Scuppered, 2pm String Theory, 3pm The Troubadors, 4pm Jack's Rack which will be followed by VOX a relaxed acoustic session 6pm Open Mic, 645pm Twins ... a songwriter project between Gina Walters (Screaming Maldini) and Mark Roberts ( Watch this Fire Spread) 730pm Pistola Kicks 'Los Pepe' acoustic session.

Wednesday night is spotlight night here at Trippets.
Tonight, as well as our usual fantastic host Chris Firminger, we will be accompanied by not two but three guest acts!
We have Rob Coyne, who is described by some as a Tom Jones soundalike. If you like a powerful voice you won't be disappointed. We will also be joined by Tim Wakefield a solo singer and guitarist. Finally we will be joined the three piece Red Hot White.
So please pop down and join us for some good drinks, great music and fantastic times.

Thurs 4th Aug ….Formally, The Bluegrass Buddies now called The Sheaf River Band are joining forces with Trevor on mandolin and Dave on fiddle (musicians from bands, Roger the Badger and Jonny and the Prison Didn't Help Boys), for an informal evening of bluegrass music.

Saturday 6th August 2011 “Trippets does Charity” FIONA’S FUND

Tacheburn Combo: are a new acoustic duo, combining rock blues and folk music with a mix of original material and covers. The band is Daniel Catchpole (ex home town hobo front man,) singer guitar and songwriter and Ian Ashworth (formerly of big red’s Bible) on harmonica, banjo, mandolin. Influences are Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, blues, David Grisman, Bela Fleck.

Daniel along with his partner Lindsey Bridge and her father Bob Bridge, started the charity fundraiser gig last year and also performed at all of the event’s. The new band Tacheburn combo (named after Bob’s awesome moustache sideburn combo) will be warming up for the charity event playing all over Sheffield in July including at the tramlines festival on the Saturday 23rd at La Foret Leopold Square.

The Anything Goes Orchestra – The Greatest Ukulele Feel Good Big Band In The Universe! The Anything Goes Orchestra are a Ukulele based 5 piece band playing classic jazz, swing, pop and punk. From humble little ukuleles to the double bass, washboard, kazoo and children’s drum kit – the small instruments combine and layer to create a big band sound suitable for all kinds of events.

Bob “The Whiskers” Bridge An amateur performer who only plays about 3 gigs a year, will be pleased to delight you with some entertaining self penned blues instrumentals on guitar & mandolin and a mellow variety of popular folk, and country songs, with the occasional surprise thrown in.

Chloe Jade Simmons: Chloe hasn’t provided a bio but is an acoustic act, she plays guitar and has the most stunning voice!

Saturday Jack of Harps

Tonight, Saturday August 13th, we are honoured to welcome back one of our old favourites Jack of Harps. As usual you can expect some blues, rock and roll, jazz, funk, soul and whatever other genres they can think of. So for a swinging Saturday why not pop on down to Trippets?

Wednesday night is Spotlight night here at Trippets. As usual we will be joined by Chris Firmanger hosting the evening and playing some intricate guitar accompanied by his smooth voice.
This week he will be joined by one of our favourites here at Trippets, James Tucker whose booming voice is sure to fill the room. As well as James we will have a new face to Trippets Ash Mandrake; an off the wall folk duel guitarist. Sure to be an entertaining evening.
That’s not it for music this week at Trippets. Friday night we will be joined by our resident DJ Gandhi Warhol; playing vinyl all night long from 6.
Saturday night The Amelia Carter band will be playing cool blues and old fashioned rock and roll from 9pm.
