Just watched Anchorman and whislt quite amusing at times it is hardly the masterpiece everyone is raving about. If I get one laugh out of a modern comedy I am suprised.

The only films that have made me laugh recently are Garden State and Lost in Translation. even Team America left me cold a lot of the time.

Am I alone in finding all the new mainstream comedies, well not funny?

Garden State was like watching a really long episode of Dawsons Creek. Bad, in every conceivable way.

Anchorman is extremely overrated though, I agree.

anyhow I like Spaced and Scrubs I just don't like the "basic" comedy coming out. It is all so obvious or stupidly screwball to make it pointless imo.

The funniest films are usually those that don't rely on cheap gags.

If anyone wants to join me I'm considering burning effigies of Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler next week.

I'll throw Vince Vaughn in there for good measure.
