View Full Version : Vandalism at Longley School

Not long ago some wooden structures were built in the playground of Longley Primary School, namely two seating areas and an adventure climbing frame. It cost a small fortune and the kids were ecstatic to at last have something to play on at playtimes. As the frame is on the grass (for obvious reasons) and the weather being wet ever since, the kids have had to stay off to avoid the muddy conditions. They were promised that as soon as the grass dried a bit they'd be allowed on it. The kids have been very patient and looked at it longingly from afar.

Today, Friday 6th, it was decided that it may be dry enough to let them on it. Guess what. During the previous evening some scumbag(s) had sawn a big chunk out of the handrail leaving a rough, dangerous edge, hacked-up other parts and made it unsafe and unfit for the kids to play on. Can anyone imagine how the kids felt? I can't. I just see the looks of disappointment on their faces.

It is just a pity that these pieces of crap didn't impail themselves on the railings on their way out. At least the kids (and staff) would have got a laugh out of it.

Of course nobody saw them do it, (par for the course) so I'm asking for any help that may be available on the Forum in identifying these animals. If anyone in the Longley area hears any names in connection with this could they contact me by PM, or even name the scum on open Forum?

The kids would be very grateful.

Thanks:D

Good luck... but please don't start naming people on the forum unless they have been found guilty of an offence and their names released for publication. Thanks.

Perhaps you may be as well to look towards the low life thats hang around the shops on southey Avenue.
These are most likely to be the same same low life that have just bricked about 8 house windows in the last week.
Maybe the same morons that smash up the phone boxes and nick all the cars in the area.

I went to the post box on there the other night, around 10 to 20 youths were congrigated outside the shop.
I posted my letter and they started to hurl abuse in my direction,a car pulled up at the side of me at high speed (a brand new astra) the driver looked about 12.
The rest of the kindrgarden massive, proceded to wreck the phone box.

Police interest on a scale of 1 to 10-----minus 20.

Ive even seen them in the greens, wrecking all the development work that is being carried out,its such a shame that all that money is being spent on it.

We all know how it will end up

It annoys me that, what was a quiet area is now turning into a pit of scum, one of the reasons I have chosen to move from the area.

Also someone broke into monteney school and releived them of their computers last week, they are marked as property of the school.

so if your offered a cheap pc, dont be a jerk and buy one, report it.

the school does well to raise funds for things like this and can well do without all this effort lining some smack heads pockets

The sad fact is people will buy them, and it will be the same people that claim to be the pillar of the comunity.

They will sit in their houses, preaching their morals while watching the stolen Tv and stolen DVD.
If you know these people, and you see their houses you will notice how well protected it is.
They will have the highest fence, the newest alarm, the most security lights.

Heaven forbid that these people are ever robbed,it would be the end of the world.
I am aware of some of these people and they are exectly as described, again police interest is zero as they prefer to go for the easy targets in the area (yes the motorist)

Too right.

Its about time they closed all that area off to traffic as well.I had a nice vision of the greens being nice in the summer, alas I will be amazed if it last as long as that.
Ive lost count of how many times the old couple have been harassed in the shop at the bottom.

cant wait till im off here

It goes alot deeper than that,,I am staying local but just off where I am at the moment.
The trouble is on the exterior things dont look too bad,but when you go into the inner workings of some of the people that live there, there are some sick individuals.

if they knocked the flats down what are near the shops that would make things better cos a lot of the crime in the area comes from the said flats:thumbsup:

Get a grant and invest in CCTV connected to the Caretaker's house.

They sound an alarm when they detect body heat.

Sound idea, but when you consider the grant could be used for other things and the thieving scum will probably nick the CCTV system anyway.

What bugs me is having to spend fortunes on protecting ourselves around here when the logic would be to take these kids (and their parents(?) ) out of circulation. As far as most of us are concerned, the entire estate should be covered by CCTV and the only objections would be from those whose actions are iffy.

There's a civil liberties issue here, but the law abiding Longley folk (and their property) who don't have the freedom to come and go as they please should be protected at the expense of these lowlives.

Yes, there'll be cries of "Its always been like this," but now we have the technology to deal with it. A few Anti-social Behaviour Orders, curfews, taggings and hefty fines accompanied by community work to replace or put right any theft or damage might just switch these useless parents on to their responsibilities.

As for the older yobs (14 and above) give them a good kicking and put them in the worst boot camp possible.

God help us when/if these scum reach adulthood.

I can remember when Longley was a nice place (most of the people still are),but i would say in my experience it has got alot worse over the last 3 years.

As much as I would like to name people,I cant so my hands are tied in that respect.
I have seen decent people come and go,only to be replaced by total wasters and the sad part is,the council put them there and the council know what these people are like.

The place is now riddled with wannabe gangsters, its quite normal now for me to go to work only to wonder if all my belonings have found there way to cash converters when I return.

The council have this sick idea, that by putting theses people in among the normal folk they will somehow fit in and conform.

Total B*****ks.

My car got knicked three times, they caught the guy that did it,I got awarded compo (never saw a penny of it),the bloke that did it is now roaming the streets again, wheres the justice in that ?.

Its time now for the council to act, they know who these people are,so they should sort them out,if I were to roam Longley tonight with a piece of 2x2 it would be me thats in the wrong, but maybe a good battering is what some of these morons need (do the parents as well)
