Well as the day draws ever nearer when I seal my fate and take the plunge into married life (aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggg) my thoughts are dwelling on my stag do (both of em;) ).

I know I'm having one in Sheffield, but I want to go elsewhere. Say Friday to Monday.

I'm open to suggestions, and if you have any idea of price too (especially if it includes flying) then please add this info!

I would put aside my anti-USA feeling for a few days and travel to New York, or I'd go to Australia.

If I were to stay local I'd hire The Office pub at Upperthorpe and have a big massive do for family and friends (leaving the missus to be and her mates to their own devices of course), I'd hire The Office particularly due to it being free to hire (I ain't a cheapskate but the less money I pay on the venue, the more I have available for beer, nibbles and entertainment).

Edinburgh is my second favourite city, you find some cool places to have a stag do.
The people are great and the pubs, sheer class. Quite a big goth scene from what i hear too, just avoid the neds and the fopps.

We went to Birmingham for a mate of mine's and had a great time. Went paint balling during the day then went to the many pubs all down one stretch and eventually ended up in Spearmint Rhinos. All good fun!

The Canaries are just right this time of year, in this country the Lakes would be nice.

Wouldn't do New york as a stag do event..as good as the place is it isn't really suited to that sort of holiday...I'd do Vegas. Hire a limo and Tuxedo's and do a night at the Casino's...that's a Stag Do

Yeah... but that's a stag do that's out of my price range unfortunately mate!

Barcelona is a great place, and pretty cheap flights as well.

You are looking at anything between £11.00 single trips on virgin trains (between mon-thur at certain times) up to £80 returns on all networks. I have just got a £40 return on GNER with only 1 change each way on a fri-thur return.
As for places to stay there's the usual travel inns etc from £40-£45 per night or there's some nice central hotels around Princess street where you can go drinking on rose and george street, try the old town half aswell, there are some quality pubs bars and clubs of many varieties:D

It is a bit extravagent....would deffo give mike's idea a go..Barcelona is a top top place and fairly cheap to get to

I went to Barcelona for my mates stag do a few years ago - he's since divorced but don't let that put you off! We had a great time from what I can remember.

You can get cheap flights with Easyjet and Ryan air from Liverpool or with BMI Baby from East Midlands.

I was thinking of having the Stag Do during the easter bank holiday (9 - 12 April) due to time off work for some of the revellers.

I've found something reasonable to Ibiza, but I think everything will be closed during that time of year.

I'd love NYC but some people think it's too far to go for 4 days (and expensive... wimps)!

I thought about bulgaria cos it's cheap, not too far and hot. However some of my stag revellers feel that the local women will resemble the local men (hairy...butch) and thus this has put them off. It makes no odds to me cos I'm not the one on the pull.

Went to Tenerife last year Friday to Tuesday, 9 of us and it was a fantastic place for a stag do. We dressed up the guy who was getting married as something different every day firstly a a woman, then as a porn star (don't ask) but best as a smurf - white shorts, white wellies, a santa hat (painted white) and then painted him blue. Awesome.

If you need strippers then I can book Britney Spears and Sophie Ellis Bextor as a double act for you. ;)

Otherwise you could go to Blackpool

It depends if you want it posh or cheap and cheerful

and what you want to do other than drink

eg. get a tan, watch a game, bungee jump....

If you want loads of drink and nothing much else then any city centre would do

If you want to canoe as well, you need to go Wales or somewhere, to an outward bound type place with a bar

Will the local single Sheffield women be holding a wake at the same time?

However I will be having a sheffield bash as well so all's well on that front.
I'd like to do something (i.e. an activity) as well as just drink while on my stag do. However this is not essential!

I went to Bulgaria a few years ago, and I can report that the ladies there are most definitely not of the shot-putter persuasion (well, some are obviously). There are plenty of eye-wateringly gorgeous lasses out there.

I thought it was a brilliant place too, would love to go back.

There was a program on TV about Bulgaria a few months ago, it was showing some of the houses that were for sale at a great price with views to die for. Looked very tempting.
