completely different policy, but you should try SOLA bar, this is a basement bar, but with a difference.

Friday nights it plays host to being the official pre bar to the PLUG!

Saturdays is SOULPHISTICATED

Bar Abbey,
Formerly the Speakeasy, is below the abbeydale cinema and an excellent venue. It can be hired and was a superbly decorated and equipped place.

They have a regular Ska night down there, and I used to put rock bands on there about 7 years ago it's a great space. A proper true basement venue. Although I haven't been in for 2-3 years.
