The house next door to us has been empty for the best part of 2 years now. It was finally sold on 7th October 2004. No one has been in and it still remains empty.

Is there any way of finding out who bought it and what there intentions are?

I am assuming it was bought by a builder as it was in a pretty bad state and needs about £30k spending on it.

There is nothing going on there, no squatters or anything else but I just don't like having an empty house next door.

Thanks

The land registry should have details of the owners (but I'm sorry that I've never needed to contact them so don't have any details) and then you can contact them direct to ask their plans. There is every likelihood that the extended empty period is due to planning controls (at least in part) so you could also approach the council planning department and see if there's any granted consent or pending applications on the address.

Try this (http://www.landreg.gov.uk/) or this (http://www.landregisteronline.gov.uk/)

If it's derelict the council can take action.
