Okay, so not quite, but if we got snowed in for an indefinite period of time, how long do you think your stash would last? Mr Radish reckons I could safely go 18 months, but I seriously think he is overestimating this:suspect: I reckon I could go for a year. Would have to stock up on bread and milk though.......

Mrs Radish! That was like the night they played that Orson wells play on the radio and people thought it was the end of the world! Flippin eck. I've got enough as I need to get me to the 4 minute warning and then I'm barging through Jills door with a mattress on my back. I sharpen my elbows as we speak. Give yourself a talking to Lady. Scare mongering.

I was thinking about this yesterday morning because I've been attempting to work my way through the bag of leftover sock yarn scraps. Recently I've made three baby jackets, a baby blanket, a scarf and two pairs of socks from the scrap bag but there doesn't seem to be any less yarn in there than when I started. I suspect I could be a year just working my way through the sock yarn and the leftovers from making socks.

Are you sure that no-one is sneaking in and putting more in when you're not looking W4B?

The thought had occurred to me, I'd also considered that someone was messing with my mind by swapping the bag it's in for a smaller one. That would explain why it is that I keep using it up but it's still escaping from the bag. The real culprit is me of course, I have between 20 and 30g left from making a pair of socks so I'm adding to the bag all the time. At least it's all in one bag now, I did have an overflow bag that I was pretending wasn't there. I like sock yarn, you can't have too much of it but it's an embarrassment when you open the wardrobe door and it cascades all across the floor. People start to think you have too much and that would never do.

You little tinker! :D

*Has to go and lie down with a cold compress on her forehead, after that scare!*

War of the Worlds? War of the Wools? Hmmm, either way I don't think we are going to get Tom Cruise to star in a movie about it. I make no apology for scaring everybody half witless, you should have stocked up in the first place. Let that teach you all a valuable lesson!!!

But... I've stocked up, Mrs Radish! I've stocked up so well, I am now officially "SABLE":- Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy. But that doesn't mean that I don't want more! And it doesn't mean I can't panic if I think I might run short!

You made us addicted to buying wool and then you create a panic. Is this a trick to get us even more dependant? What's going on PlainTalker, is someone going to arrange an intervention?

Conspiracy theory? You will be telling me next that there are government secrets we don't know about.
