When Dave Clarke first started DJing he was a bit crap but he's turned into one of the best techno djs imho.

he was a hip hop/funk dj when he started.. thats why he's such a good dj - the way he cuts everything up and all of the tricks effects he's mastered :)

I've got a video of him playing at a club in Holland and he's using the mixer to do a lot of the FX. Nothing wrong with that but just a surprise as I thought he did it all via the vinyl.

But I agree, most hip-hop djs make excellent house/techno djs - if you like house get some of Terrence Parkers old mixes. His scratch mixing is phenomenal.
