Hi, I've got a knitting machine that I need help with. (Soft support under the needle-bed needs changing.) Is there anybody that is providing tuition on how to use and maintain knitting machine, or can help in other way? I can teach you computers in exchange (I am a teacher and IT tutor).

Any guidance would be appreciated as I am a beginner with knitting machines.
Thank you for your help.

I too have a knitting machine that needs new needle bars. I've just emailed metropolitanmachineknitting.co.uk to see if they can help.

Strangely, I too am an IT tutor...

Hi would love to help but I am a Passap user not a Japanese machine user. They work in similar but very different ways as the Passap is a double bed machine. If your machine is a passap just pm me and I will do my best to help.

My machine is a Toyota, which are no longer made. I received this reply from Metropolitan:

Yes we do have retainer bars in stock. If you bring the bars with you for comparison we will be surer of giving you the correct ones. They cost £15.95 each.

Sounds hopeful.

Hi, Iread somewhere recently that using draught excluder works well and is a lot cheaper. I'm going to try when my bar wears out.

Thanks for that Idea Oggi, might as well try that - not much to lose! Will let you know if I succeed.
