Does anyone know anything about how you go about turning a european playing DVD recorder in to a Multi region one????
It's just that Amazon are selling the model I want for £250, but it only plays our region, The same model is available on the internet, having been made multi region for an extra £60.
Is there a shop you can take them to to get them done cheaper??
I have no idea how it works!
(The model is 'Pioneer DVR433H-S' if that makes any difference!)

It works fine I did mine some time ago without any probs and its all done via your remote.
Or just buy a multi-region DVD player, they're dirt cheap nowadays, I saw them selling in Tesco's for like 30 quid last week.
DVD reviewer has loads of hacks. They are just a series of key presses that open up the regions (a bit like a cheat on Playstation) I did mine and it worked perfectly. They don't tend to make dvd's for a single region because it's not a sensible business option. They just set them before they are shipped. If you change the region you're only doing what they do all the time in the factories.

i think thats the site i used for mine.
most of em you download a text file and burn it to cd a special way, it includes a set of numbers and the last number is the region code, mines set to 0 so no region but IF you need another region to play a stubborn disc you burn another disc with the number ending with the correct region (ie:- region 2 = 2)
simple :)
the ones on dvdreviewer should just give you a remote hack which you just need to enter on one of the menus on your machine.
If you buy a multi-region from Richer Sounds you can say get the single region for £30 and for an extra £10 they give you the codes to make it multi-region.
Thanks everyone! I didn't have a clue what to do and now I've got multiple options!
