Hello all. I have searched this forum's older posts on city centre flats but have some more specific questions that I wondered if anyone could answer for me.

I'm thinking of buying one of these flats and have looked at several, but something that you can't appreciate without spending a lot of time in them is how much neighbour/street noise you get. I'm interested in getting a flat in West One or Leadmill Court and I'm liking the laminate flooring but can you hear people walking around in the flat above a lot?

Also when in the flats with all the windows closed the street/car noise was pretty much nothing, but in particular at Leadmill Court, I was wondering how much noise resulting from the 2am outspill of the Leadmill there was and whether the double glazing filtered it out.

Cheers...

Hi, I live in West one, above vodka revolution. It's amazingly quiet inside the building for a start, or maybe I just have really considerate neighbours?

I've never heard noise from either upstairs or downstairs.

Friday night and saturday night get a bit noisey outside, as you can imagine but I've found it ok so far. However I've not spent anytime here over the summer when windows have to be left open.

Hope that helps.

same here from all my mates that have lived in the said flats- no noise at all!!!

Nowdays the building regs are that tight that they HAVE to make them soundproof!!! :D

Hi

I havea property at Leadmill and have let to three sets of tenants in 3 years and I always ask if there is any noise or problems (I am a member of the Responsible Landlord Scheme in Sheffield) and they have never reported any problems with noise only the first couple of weeks of the new academic year when freshers go crazy, then it stops. My husband and I have stayed over the years when tenants have moved out and never heard anything due to noisy flooring either.

Slightly off topic here as well but I live in Riverside Exchange and neighbourly noise generally isn't a problem though when someone walks down the corridors you can hear it quite clearly.
