so walking around town and i see this place called FOB. anyone been in it or heard of it? whats the place like? it looks kinda uni/posh adults kinda place where they trying to be arty. i dont know. i cnt explain it. what is this place about and what does the name stand for? sounds like SOB :hihi:

It's a coffee shop! nothing very mystical about it. It's independantly run and has people's art work and stuff up.

And they do a lovely cheese and tom toastie.

Not a posh coffee bar - just a decentish place to refuel when in town.

There is a good review of the place here, where it says that the name FOB comes from the South African owners who named the cafe after a South African boys' school

FOB stands for "full of beans". Its a great coffee shop! definitely worth checking out.

Nah, I've done it miself! So it is possible......tho, has to be said, they dumped my cappucino on someone else's table, so I'm not sure that I can recommend the service ;)

twas coffee revolution then got bought out me thinks, but hey they let you smoke,whoo

only coffee shop in town that lets you smoke!

oh and the staff are wonderful

(and I'm not saying that just 'cause I work there... )

I think FOB does the best coffee in the town centre, much better than Costa or Starbucks.

My only gripe would be that the non-smoking section can get very smoky at busy times (like lunch time) even with the door open.

but everywhere else is non smokng fob is our refuge! save the smokers!

Let me just point out that I'm not one of those non-smokers who sit as close to the smoking section as possible, making dramatic coughing noises and flapping my hands in the air!

My two best mates smoke, so I'd get blasted if I started doing that!

I much prefer the Cafeteria (up the road) cheaper coffee and ever so tasty. And when Im feeling extra lazy they will deliver to the office. :clap:

in FOB, if you think its too smokey, ask one of the people there if they'll turn the extractor fans up

'cause they're usually not turned on full

Fond of FOB...I just wish that they had some cds that didn't skip all the time!
