ok

I have THICK hair and it's CURLY lol

I want SMOOTH, STRAIGHT hair.

I spend 45 minutes in a morning straightening my hair, but this isn't ideal - can anyone suggest really good straightening irons that do your hair quickly

I did get some of the wet to straight but they were pants...

I'v been told by GF that GHD's are the best.. also cost me a whole lot so I hope they were worth it.
These ones (http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews6033.html)

Why not just embrace your curly nature and spend another hour in bed cuddling assorted furry hot water bottles? I do- it's much easier than trying to play King Canute with the curls.

Hiya

Have u ever thought about permantly straighting your hair - they do it at good salons now. They cant do my hair as it is bleached. supposed to be amazing results

I use corioliss professional staighteners, have been very happy with them. Exactly like GHD but cheaper!

http://www.corioliss.co.uk/

Check out ebay u get alot on there!

GHD or Good Hair Day.
They are the most expensive but by far the best around.
I think most are only available from salons, and are a lot more expencive than others.
I've had 3 types and these are by far the best

thanks guys...

no - my mum had hers 'permanently' straightened and it was curly again within a couple of weeks so I decided not to bother

Medusa, the trouble is, my hair doesn't go nice in curls - it's just one big mess. If it was properly curly, I'd leave it, but it's somewhere in between so the bits underneath curl and the bits on top stay relatively straight so it just looks big. LOL

Thanks all - wasn't sure as I had read that GHDs had blown up in people's hair :|

GHD are definately the best IMHO - I've tried lots of different ones and they are still my favourite.

My first lot gave me an electric shock :wow: so I sent them back to the company and they sent me another pair out straight away (free of charge - pretty good considering I'd had mine a while).

Not the cheapest Lotti but well worth the money.

Go on - put them on you Christmas list!!!

Try Kudo straighteners. Recommended 'em to me (by Boroughgal actually) and I love mine - they were only about 40 or 50 quid too. Exactly the same as the GHD ones I tried, but cheaper!

I have some Remington Wet 2 Straight ones (bought here on the Forum actually!) which are really good, great for thick and curly hair! But I also rate GHD's- I used to always nick PrincessSam's GHDs when we lived together! Neither of these are particularly cheap, but they'll save you money and time in the long run. And you can get (or you could earlier this year) lovely pink GHDs, I believe some of the money from sales of them goes to Breast Cancer charities.

GHD Lotti

Santa should be able to sort you out a set. My untamed mop can be tamed by GHD's and stay tamed.

Tried others but not up to the job of my mad mop.

Yep gotta love the GHDs

My hair is really really thick and prone to being wavy rather than curly but GHDs get it poker straight and shiny and smooth.

Couldn't live without them, plus can get my hair straight in 5 mins, super straight in 10 to 15 mins and I can do it on my own. Other straightners I've had I needed help to get the back done.

A definite investment but worth it.

Where did you get them from?

My vote goes to GHD.

You can get them on offer on the net. Straightners, oil and heat mat for around £100.

she bought them on offer - you could take your old ones into the hairdressers and get £20 off new ones - this offer has finished now. Anyway, shes got them spare as her old ones work fine - so just wants to flog the new ones.

I love my GHD's - i used to have the kudos ones and they used to really pull my hair - they were hot, but not ceramic - unless they've changed now...

GHD are doing an xmas gift pack - with the straighteners, a travel pack including heat mat and mini bottles of their hair products... not sure how much though - it was advertised in now magazine.

Loving the adverts on the telly at the mo...

I have really curly hair and generally wear it that way - so much easier for me !!

But on the times I do decide to straighten - it has to be GHD !!

I can get GHD for £70 :D

Thanks all,

I got a pair of remmington wet 2 straight for christmas last year and thought they were great at first, but it was mainly because of the time it takes to dry, and then to straighten - thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone - I was wrong. They blew up - and actually, haven't took them back - oops.

I can't really put them on my Christmas list because it was a very close friend of the family who bought me them so he'd wonder what happened to them if I asked for different ones... Oh well - will just have to save up

Thanks very much guys - katy - would love to do that, but I've done it before and my hair is VERY stubborn lol.
My mum bought some that do my fringe lovely as they are curved, but I think it would take a very long time to do the whole lot.

Scott - just cut my hair to make it more manageable, timed straightening it from curly and it still took me 35 minutes - oh well that's 10 minutes shorter than when I wore it long lol

I once heard that combing perm solution through wet curly hair repeatedly reversed the curl

Is there any truth in this or just an urban legend??

From what I can remember, Perm solution just permanently restructures the hair, to curly or straight. So yes it would work but need to be done by someone who has a clue, or all hair might fall out.

Wet to straight hair straighteners by Revlon. Two things really:
1) You can use them on wet hair
2) They make your hair look great.

My friend ramsacked me with them and my hair looked great.
