Me and my mate Spike went in to see Spikes big brother who used to organise it. The first people we see as we walk in are Eskimo And Butlap. I though oh oh, we are gonna get our heads kicked in here. But I must admit all the greasers were Ok with us and we made friends pretty quickly. Not bad to say we were both skinheads. The greasers were telling us that they had had a pitch battle in the Peace gardens the nght before with some skins that had come over to cause trouble. I am pretty sure if Spikes big brother hadn't been there we would have been pulp.

I think my memory is slowly coming back to me. I feel sure that the main man in charge of the Mustard Seed was called Pete. Can't remember his surname. I used to meet up with quite a large group. Names that spring to mind are Ralph, Ken, Michael,Pam. Unfortunately I cannot remember surnames but there were many more of us. We are going back quite a few years.

I do remember Michael Buck, but I'm sure there was another Michael friend of Ralph and Ken (who I remember was tall and thin). I also remember Neil. As I said before there was a large group, I can remember quite a few of the faces but as yet cannot put names to them all

Yes it was a large group and I was the largest and still am. LOL. I'm Neil. Neil Revill, used to be good mates with Mick Buck. I still see him from time to time, he had a girl friend called Linda. He married her, they're still together. I'll try to think of some of the names, but don't hold your breath.

I couldn't take the excitement of the reunion just now. I've not been well, had a minor heart attack (if there is such a thing) due to having angina. I didn't know I had that until I was taken to hospital. Are you from Grimesthorpe? If so, why aren't you at the reunion?

I'm not too unwell, I had a Angioplasty done while in hospital. They fit a stent (a tube) into the blocked vein to let the blood flow. might have to have another one done, I will find out in a couple of weeks. It made me feel a lot better.
Shame about babysitting, I do my share of that, the joys of being a Grandad. I hope we can go next time.

Ah, we are on the same lines but I never knew House Church seeing as I went to a church in town. Didn't Peter Fenwick have something to do with starting up House Church?

I do believe he was instrumental in setting house-church up, Grahame. My ex husband was a member of HC, and some very dear friends of mine (one now, sadly, passed away) were elders there.

I shouldn't say this, but I do believe in openness even if it gives church members a bad name, and I have a feeling I know what your answer will be, but I hope your ex husband wasn't the one who ill treated you?

I've pm'd you grahame.

actually, I get on fairly well with my ex:-hub. I married in church, and took my vows very seriously, but, sadly, the circumstances weren't right.

I quote from a friend of mine on facebook: "It seems odd to think that there should be a good time and a good way for anyone to pass on. But if there is then my Pastor - Peter Fenwick just did it. You will be missed."

And from another of my FB friends: "is feeling sad at the loss of our church pastor, Peter, who will be missed sooo much and it has been a privilege to know such an amazing and loving person. But I am happy that he is in glory! - what a wonderful place to be!"

Thank you for that ! It's amazing what jogs our memory! We used to go "out fishing" in small groups or twos, before the start, to invite people in. Lovely times.
