i purchased some dvds online on the 11th october and so far they have not arrived never had trouble with my previous orders so im presuming my package is in the hands of customs and excise

so do customs contact you to say they have your package or do i have to contact them ?

just under 45 pounds , if customs do have them they will prob want me to pay duty on them , i had this problem when i used to have them deliverd via ups

i emailed the company who i got the dvds from and they told me it can take up to 8 weeks for oversesas packages my last one from them took 16 days

maybe im panicking too early

which company?

some are more prone than others and you almost always get stung with ups.

you'd have to pay duty and royal mail charges as well.

the order is with a company called gamelink its about my 4th or 5th order with them and previous orders came within the 2 week time scale , it could just be a delay with the post but part of me is thinking that customs have got them , whats confusing me now is will i get a letter from customs or will i have to contact them myself:(

I wouldn't worry just yet Panda.
I've had loads of stuff from the States and this time of year is notoriously slower than at other times.
If they didn't send it airmail then it can take up to about 2 months!!

Also, when I've had to pay customs on an item, I've never had a letter, The postie just knocks at my door and won't hand over the parcel 'til I hand over the customs charges.:x
