We have decided to cancel this meeting due to the bad weather and the forecast for Wednesday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will have two topics at the next Sheffield Humanist Society meeting (which replaces the original topic of "Does population matter?" - our speaker cannot come):

A look at Creationism
There is a lot of Creationist material on the web and we will be showing a few selected videos to give a feel of what is out there and discuss what they are putting across. Find out the cosmic significance of bananas and the coke can. Your life will never be the same again.

Did the Christians steal Christmas?
We all hear about the huge importance this event unique in history. But is it? Perhaps it is not so special after all and only a re-hash of older myths and legends. Does the story have something in common with Plato and vultures? Mike Granville will help you decide.

The meeting is at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday 1st December at the University Arms, 197 Brook Hill, Sheffield, S3 7HG

The University Arms is close to the tram, get off at the Sheffield University stop, and several buses including the 51 & 52, stop almost next to the pub, and the 94 & 95 a short walk away. Parking is available in the streets behind the pub.

You can see a map of the location with this link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps? q=universityarms+sheffield

Organised by the Sheffield Humanist Society.
Everyone welcome.

(This replaces the original Sheffield Humanist Society meeting on population. Unfortunately our speaker for that meeting can't come due to personal circumstances. We hope to reschedule the meeting for early next year.)
