..who fully reads all posts on a thread before posting? I only ask because some people seem to post stuff that clearly points out they haven't read all the posts of a thread.
I do think there are others who do read them before making their post, but I get the general feeling that most either skip read or read only a couple of posts on the thread.

I've noticed that a few times....I just assume they're at work and haven't got time to read the whole shebang!
I won't post until I've read the whole thread though, I don't want to bore everyone by repeating an opinion that someone else has already shared
I'm boring enough even when I try to be original!:D
For me it depends on what the first post is about.
If it is a question that i have an opinion on and the thread is 10 pages long, i will just quote the first post and answer.
There are other threads that keep popping up over and over again and i'll think "there must be something very interesting going on there". Then i'll read all the posts so that i am fully informed before i jump in feet first

This thread is a good example. I was in bed butcould not sleep so got up and have drank a cider or two. As a result I read about every 7th word of this thread.
I don't know what it's abnout but I agree

PMSL at that one neeeeeeeeeek :hihi: :hihi:
I try and read the whole thread from start to finish, but then again that's part of my job!
The 'serious' threads I DO read from end to end, the ones that are more to do with personal experiences I scan through to get a 'flavour' of the thread before contributing.

MMMM maybe I'm spending too much time reading lately, as if i'm not working or walking my dogs then i'm usually reading a book or reading internet sites, as my existence become meaningless? or am I bettering myself? that is the question :loopy: ?
Yeah I think JoeP's theory is best and thats what i'm going to start and do, read the threads fully that interst me lots and just read a couple of posts on the more fun threads, maybe then i'l make on to more than General ChitChat
tbh I didn't even finish reading the end of your post before replying :D
I do not have the concentration, time or inclination to read a whole thread before responding.
Yes, I think you're all right , the postman is always late !

When I was in my thirties I was a member of the Walkley Library, and once borrowed a very intersting book on Speedreading. It told you how to read books without reading every word. You did it passage by passage, skimmed over a block at once, and after a lot of practise it really worked. I do that all the time now, with books, newspapers, and The Forum.
