Can anyone remember these lads from the Wybourn?,they left in 1968, so i have not been in touch with them for some 37 years.
Trevor Hinchcliff ( inca )
Johnny Taylor
Mick thompson
Bob Parkin.
Especially Bob Parkin as he owes me a tanner i lent him in 1966 for a jubbly so with the interest compounded over the years i could put a good deposit down on a second hand deafaid.
And yes i have tried Friends Reunited but to no avail, so get your thinking caps on good people and come back to me with some positive results.
I remain your loyal obedient servant

Not Betts coyleys. You will have to go back about 20-30 years and think of that era.

They were there long before 1975. I would tell you the road they lived on but i can't remember the name of it. I was only a whipper snapper when my grandparents moved off the estate.

It was on the corner of the road that was next to the shops. It had old folk's flats across the road from it.

coyleys

The only old folk's flats i remember were between Maltravers Cres and Maltraver rd , but the shops were Cricket inn rd.
So you have set me on a quest

There's a chance i'm talking about Maltravers Rd. My grandparents house was on the corner. You would turn left at the junction and walk approx 100m to the shops.

*goes to find a map

Problem solved :)

My grandparents lived on Manor Oaks Place and the shops are on Manor Oaks Rd.

As for you bazmanau:

A David Cooper still lives on the Wybourn, in the cul-de-sac, just above the windsor, on the right as you go upto Manor Lane!

Could this be the one???

vidster,

i had cousins living on Maltravers called Becks and we lived on Manor Oaks but we all stemmed from my grans family who lived there years and they were the Turners.

My gran was kate and her sister was Gertie who lived a few houses away from her.

My gran had six children, Derek Billy, Jean (my mum) Kath (became a Beck) Betty and Joe.

We had quite a few relations scattered across the estate in them days up until the modernisations in the 70's when most seemed to have been moved onto the Manor where quite a few live today.

Any closer with beck??

I can remember members of my family mentioning the name Turner a few times. Your not far off with Beck though. Maybe you remember the name wrong?

My mother moved off the Wybourn in the mid 70's, to guess where?..... The Manor

Hey Bazmanau, I know Steven Cammack, great bloke. I moved to Oz years ago and amazingly met his sister, Vicky, while holidaying in Queensland, now we're good mates. I also lived on the Wybourn many years ago but left when I was about 5/6 years old, lived on Southend Place then my Nan moved to Boundary Road after that. Cheers
